Looking good growmie! For growing 3 years now you would think i had the germinating down to a T but nope. I still get many failures. Especially after planting them i get a fair few that dont sprout. No idea why but oh well atleast it gets my collection down a bit so i can buy more
What is up @Se7en good to see ya back I thought we’d lost an amazing grower!
I think its just good seeds rather than something im doing, never done scarification or H202 nothing fancy, I just very consistently keep warm/tepid water
I’ve have noticed my seeds seem to be much bigger than what I see for sale, maybe thats something.
I’ve grown some sickly looking things in the past and I’m far from a master grower, like 20% there lol.
Last few grows I’ve went deep in the rabbit hole and thats paying off. Still getting accustomed to a legit setup.
I absolutely took the hard road learning this stuff
That’s fun, I am growing some coffee plants too. Arabica. Got about a dozen starts.
Sorry @Dinky not trying to twist your thread.
That is the main thing…I do sometimes scuff my seeds and usually put them in H2O2/H2O but I really think that keeping them warm is the most important thing.
@noddykitty1 don’t apologise the journals are for us to conversate about anything off topic, happy to accommodate
Whats the story with growing coffee? Timescale/environment etc I would absolutely be interested in trying that and @Lostgirl I didnt realise you meant you’re growing it lol
Before I start a thread for it:
Anybody heard or have any experience with Laoatian weed? Not sure if I’m spelling it correctly
I did a landrace (as I could find) sativa kick for a couple years and the hardest thing about them is that they are more like perennial trees than annuals. What I mean is they always take like 16-20 weeks to flower and want to be 15 foot lanky vining plants.
Just know that before you pop any pure sativa beans.
I never came across Laos strains, but I tried a bunch of Thai and Indian landrace, and any breeder beans that had Sativa pedigree. Low yield and long wait times (think Disneyland lines ha), but a lot of racy strains. None made it to my breeding list. They are very challenging to grow that long and not get bugs.
Ah thats nice info and emphasises what ive read on the characteristics of it too. Unattractive buds, basically long foxtails but a good flavour profile. The description the person talking about it got me interested, said like the beginning of a mushroom high, strong weed high with low to mid psychedelic effect. Thought be cool to have a jar of that to sup on once a week
I wasn’t growing it. When I say, I’m getting my coffee on that means for the next 15 minutes all I’m doing is nursing that coffee!
That was the original thought alright lol
Thank you for the detailed and candid discussion of the sativa landrace strains. Very helpful and informative. I would love to give one of them a try in my grow room…
You just never know what @noddykitty1 has up that sleeve! He’s been a key player in assisting me with my outdoor vegetable garden! I still don’t understand the coffee weed 🫨
Jeez its weird looking.
@MidwestGuy i think thats a cool looking plant considering the mention of the hop gene in the video you posted previously
@noddykitty1 that’s more than enough info to know its not worth it at least right now, but in the future when my stash is in surplus i would love to have a run of that under the belt, so strange looking
In the second pic is that natural colour or lighting?
Yeah tbh I’m probably just an impatient mf cant wait to see how yoir new runs come out
Coffee and weed go together well.
Got these off the dying plant clearance rack for like a 1.99$. Could not say no to that. They just had a little chlorosis from lack of iron in starter mix. I was surprised so many seedlings all to the one 4” round pot. Packed in like carrotts. So I broke them out into a living soil grow bag and a solo cup to give one away.
Appreciate this post. New to the game and wondered about sativa. I don’t know if I could pull it off in my 2x4x6 with them growing so tall. I guess they are trainable like any other indica or auto.
She is going into flower
Oh i know that but im wondering why i have a pot of 100s of mystery seeds but ive never seen an auto from them yet, which is the only reason i can think of for this
