Did I miss the window to top?

Hi. I’m new here. This is my 3rd or 4th season. This is outdoor, Hudson Valley. Pretty sure it’s still in full veg. About 4’ tall and getting lanky. Did I miss the window to top it? Thanks.

You can top this plant Growmie, you can top in flower but the new growth wouldn’t develop any significant buds. They switch growth mode in flower and focus on bud development, topping in flower could stall that. Great looking plant :love_you_gesture:

Thanks for the quick response! I don’t think she’s switched to flowering phase yet. I’m going to go ahead and top it. Will post update pics here.

Go for it , I think it would be a good move.
Slow down the upward growth Side limbs catch up and make a nice bush.

Nice, keep that cutting and root it for an additional plant to have and flower . Might be able to get 2 clones off that upper you removed :muscle::muscle::love_you_gesture:

@Tmac845 i wanted to edit my previous reply and say you can top in early flower and reveg the clones. Topping in mid and late flower wouldn’t give the new growth buds time to develop :love_you_gesture:

I just adjusted the tie downs. The canopy starting to fill in nicely. Are those pistils I’m seeing? Plenty of air flow, plenty of light penetration. Just got a ph meter and my water is in the high 7’s. A lot of limestone around here. I’ve done a couple blood meal top dresses and a bit of cal mag but I’ve gotta get that ph down. It’ll be here in a few days in time for next feeding. Gonna add some recharge to the mix and start easing up on the LST.

What is your runoff PH/PPM?
Critically important at this stage.
Drip pans? Collect and measure Runnoff

They ate and pruned my small GSApple trees, just like 3-years ago.

 Just wondering…I heard they like weed…
Funny story on that deer note…My aunt and Uncle moved to a semi rural mountain community and they were so enamored with the "Deer Deer’ as my aunt called them as they were fixing up their houses landscaping they went to the local nursery and bought quite a few ornamental flowers and bushes …The next morning or so after planting they woke up to all of it eaten by the deer…I asked her “How are the deer deer”? She now was calling the F*#@in Deer…
So much for the love of her Deer Deer…They learned which plants are “Deer proof” and which weren’t…too funny!

First night I planted two GSApple trees, 3-years ago, ($50.00 each?) was also the night I released leaf-cutter bees (vegetable pollinators).
Woke up next morning and greeted the newly planted trees.
All leaves gone.
Leaf-cutter bees? WTF?
I was freaking out.
At that rate (just one day, so far), they would eat everything in the yard in a month or two.
Then I saw the broken branches.
Yup, Them Deer did it.
