Diary of a High Man

@Budbrother how long does it usually take until you begin seeing the mycelium colonize in a mason jar? The two 1.5 lb bags of millet are taking off but i dont see anything from the jars i made up yet. I read online mason jars can take longer though but i digured id check in. Its been about a week since first innoculating.

Usually it depends on the inoculation/spore count and environment variables. It takes a couple weeks to a month. Basically it takes what it takes. I’ve had jars that I thought were duds that eventually took after months.

Right on. I read that I should see something in 3 to 10 days so i was just starting to worry is all. I will just have to be more patient i guess. Lol. I appreciate the reference man.

I currently have a 10 cc of Enigma, albino jedi mind fuck, bluey vuitton, jack frost, tidal wave, Aztec God, Omni, full metal ghost, Iceberg, tattoo, steel magnolia, Halo gates and mace windu. I plan on keeping the innoculation going that way i can immediately start the next tub after harvest. I will have 5 40 quart tubs with a different strain in each.

On a more green note…

Rickys hash plants are taking off like crazy. Just as fast if not faster than the clones. I may have to flip into flowering sooner than expected.

Perfect timing! By the time my rickys hash plant is done flowering i should have some bubbles ready to be transfer over to the main tent. Really excited to see what else they’ll drop!

The difference in colonization between the mother mycelium bags and the jars i made up.

Jars on day 13 or 14. Bags on day 15 since innoculation. Not sure if the millet is just that much easier for the mycelium to take to but they definitely do the trick.

Thinkijg about cutting these two open when theyre done and i receive more bags and then spread them between a few bags to do grain 2 grain transfer.

But on a more green note. The autopot system is up and running. Though i have had 2 spills. Not sure why but im trying to figure things out.

With the autopots make sure all the
silicone grommets and stoppers are fully seated inside the auqua valve if you are having any type of flooding issues thats where it will come from

May I add… Keep all pots at same level, I tried to raise one to get plants a level canopy and it made a big mess in the tent. Was user error but something went way wrong.

@LiesGrows its not necessarily flooding but like the saucer overfills. I havent had the issue since thankfully

@Bentstick i do have one plant raised but thats only because its not in the autopot system. But thats not the por i had the issue with. I will continue to keep a close eye on it.

I havent had any flooding issues. I think it was because i had to water the substrate after transplant and to wet it so when i released the flood gates it was just too much to hold back. Glad i always prepare and make sure no outlets are immediately near a water source and raised off the ground(thanks to the my partner in crime, the spouse)

I.havent forgotten about y’all. Just been celebrating anniversary month while we can this weekend. Been busy working on the basement and gardens. Will have more updates soon enough!
But until then i doubled my seed collection with some new strains!

Second picture is the new Grape Fanta. Excited for that!

Unfortunately there has been a deficiency in the plants since using the autopots but its more so on my end than anything else. But besides the deficiency they are growing like a monsters so lately! Forgot to water the plant down before inserting into tray. So im battling waiting for the roots to get to the bottom for water and hand watering the top a little bit at a time to make sure the coco doesnt dry up or that they get too deficient. By the time the next res needs cleaned and filled i should have it fixed. A little over halfway empty on this res. Its definitely helping conserve water and nutrients for sure!

Unfortunately also the grain bags are the only innoculation to begin showing signs of colonization currently. Monday i get 16-3 lbs grain bags delivered so i will be attempting innoculation again but with a different grain but still a sealed sterilized bag to test if its me or the grain/container used for innoculation that is the issue. Or perhaps im just being impatient still. But im usually right when i have a gutt feeling about something.
