I had one popped up Feb 24 and chopped July 13th. 138 days. But it was nowhere near as impressive as @Fiz grew! Dried it was 2 oz, only 1 left now tho!
I did a little math in my head and I am concerned I don’t have enough darkness for indoor photos. My grow space is in a living area (TV and eating+). We turn the overhead dimmed lights on at dinner time. I’ll have to do a little research on how dark is dark for photos.
@Jaysittinback No concerns about dispensary prices I don’t even know what they are. My outdoor grow of Super Skunk photo ILGM has already given me more than I can use and there is still more to harvest. I think I harvested the first half too soon (about 4 weeks ago) so I am waiting and learning as I go. I have sampled the first half and I am completely satisfied with the results. I am still working on last years harvest and the year before that. I like being able to choose between the different strains even though I am not very good at discerning the difference.
@Fiz Slowpoke looks good to me. I would be happy with one just like that. Longer times are ok but it is useful to know an approximate time so I can plan the starting time for a replacement. My plan is to have two replacements spaced equally in time waiting to move into the better light. I am skeptical of the descriptions, I prefer actual images. The ILGM description for GG4 auto is 10 to 14 weeks (70 to 98 days) and yours exceeds the top of the range. I am guessing growing conditions will have a large affect.
@Spudgunner Is that a topped GG4 auto in a 5 gal pot? I would be satisfied with that one too. I am not trying to impress anybody.
Based on a little research I think I have too much light in the dark period for an indoor photo.
A few GG4 auto images from ILGM customer reviews. The reviews confirm the longer growing times.
I am leaning towards the natural growth habit because my space is taller than it is wide. About 18 inches wide x 4 ft tall. Two available spaces side by side and some extra for a third start.
Dark is dark. Maybe not absolute but pretty close.
The notion that if you want to grow small plants, grow autos is untrue. An auto may be small but it usually because something is messed up. Maybe genetics or grower error.
You can grow small photos, Not because of error but rather because it it intentional. Look up cannabis bonsai.
However, if you can not be assured on adequate light control, go with autos. Learn LST and how and when to top & FIM them. People around here grow very nice autos. I’m just not one of them.
@zeuspaul I should have specified it was a Bruce Banner auto. I did not top it, but did a bunch of LST only. Tried to train the main in a spiral around the container, then all the other branches caught up for a nice even canopy. Probably a 3 gallon bucket, maybe 4?
I grew 2 outside, they were planted May 15th during the Harvest Moon Seed Drop, and were harvested August 27th. I would have et them go another couple of weeks, but I thot I saw nanners on one and maybe seeds on the other. I got mad at them and chopped them then and there! These were in 7 gallon fabric pots. I put about 2 or 3 inches of lava rock in the bottom of all my containers for better drainage and to get air to the roots. It’s cheap, reusable, readily available and effective!
These only yielded 2 oz total
