This is typically a no no in coco. Straight water will throw off the cation exchange in the coco. This is the reason it’s generally recommended to buffer coco and always feed. You don’t necessarily need to feed at a very high concentration, or feed a pot that is still soaked from previous feeding. But the the 3 things that screw a coco grow are straight water, letting coco dry completely out, and not feeding often enough. Its difficult to be successful in coco if treating like a soil grow.
last coco grow i did fine on i followed all those steps but they were photos from seed , this is my first time doing a clone , watered until run off about a day or two ago and followed advice to turn down light intensity and the plant that was looking the saddest has perked up , gonna keep up with it like i did the last plants thank you
turned light intensity down , the one that was struggling the most perked up
2nd pic is that one that was limp , look at them both perked up , chlorophyll starting to come back to the leaves , thank you all for the solid advice ! the light intensity made a big big difference
girls recovering good , light was too intense after transplant , adjusted that , topped once on main branch and side branch of each plant , humidifier and oscillating fan going , and they’re loving it
@Bubbala and @Mosca when should i increase the light intensity on the clones, everything is a lush dark green now, new growth is more consistent
Looking much better established now! I’d start giving them more light. I like to work it up over a week or two, watching for any stress signals. Sometimes you can just blast them, but I like to move cautiously I guess.
appreciate ya ! i increased
to 50 percent power last night
just checked em i got roots coming out the bottom of the fabric pot on the one on the right in the pics , the bigger one
finally in their happy space , once i get the autos in there and they get close to pre flower i’m gonna flip to 12/12
A seed u start off on water and bring feed up as she grows a clone is already established growth and. An take on the full dose nutes right away. It is best to feed them daily at good veg strength nutes til around flower time on the water only days I run coco here and do certain days here and there with water only but I run ro water if that makes a difference idk I’ve never had an issue so far unless it was caused by something. Coco should be watered atleast once a day with good runoff to push out some old and replace with new stuff. If u were soil last and coco this time ur gonna love the outcome as coco does lots better to me than soil did.
Do you plan on LST?
yeah this is my first coco clone growing, i did from seed last harvest and it was insane explosive growth , yield the terps everything, crazy ! Ive been doing full strength veg nutes since i transplanted they’re doing much better after adjusting light intensity, been watering them every other day at minimum, since they’re more established im gonna get into the everyday watering
got some autos im putting in there as well , i got them in my other post , so im gonna flower them all at the same time since autos can handle different light cycles no problem, gonna do a SOG just let em grow
With coco everyday is good for the plant. Don’t have to have a lot of runoff just enough to push old out and let the new take it’s place. A clone is just like the mama plant and can handle a bit of abuse. If u enjoyed the seed and u let this veg good the clone I bet is gonna be a better ending than the seed plant was. It always turns out this way here so I try and get clones of every photo I start just Incase. Can always toss the clones if u have no room or give them away so better safe than sorry.
solid advice! i definitely agree
