Looking good. I got that same light. I usually pair it with another HLG 200 rspec or 320 Rspec FR in a 4×4.
But yeah, just moved my seedlings inside the tent today myself. I’ll tag you in my journal.
Well, into Week 6! Not much to share but they are getting fatter. The big one without leaves front right is looking like maybe a late week 7 harvest. The two on the left week 8-9 and The GSCX in the back right will run 10-12 weeks at least.
BTW @ChittyChittyBangin the Water only looks like it helped!
Two of the three seeds I dropped are up and looking good. I’m debating on dropping another but will wait to see if it’s a late bloomer. It’s happened before. Once I pull the three from the 3x3 will move the 2 in veg in and use the thin side of the tent for drying.
I got 4 seedlings started also. I am not growing over the summer anymore. It just gets way too hot in my lung room and takes too much power to cool it back down.
Its just not worth the energy consumption. I get better quality buds in the winter anyhow and i don’t have to blast 2 seperate AC units. It gets crazy because i have to run extension cords all through the 2nd story of my house for all the AC units and dehumidifiers and fans! In the winter time its just an oil heater and humidifier/dehumidifier with the fans without all the extension cords and power consumption. My home uses a gas furnace which drys the air out real bad. Humidity gets down to the lower 40’s and static electricity builds up due to the over dryness. But, it stays cool and the buds are much healthier.
I am looking into CO2 though. Have you ever used it? Does CO2 still work if the temps are lower or does it need to be hot?
Thanks @ChittyChittyBangin
@MartyMarajuanaseed I have the opposite problem. It’s too cold in the winter and have trouble keeping my tent warm enough but not so warm it blasts me out of the office. Gotta work to pay for this hobby.
Made a batch of QWET. 30g in 7g out. I had the boy make some chocolate bears. didn’t do a thing. I’m afraid they’re gamblers. probably a lump or many lumps in those bears would have me high for days. So I remade them and thoroughly mixed. Licked the spoon and had a good buzz going. Trying a full one tonight before I let the Mrs. have any. She’s a lightweight.
I would agree with @MidwestGuy. It’s not worth the time, money or safety. I’ve looked into it and it is really for commercial growers. The lighting alone is an insane amount of money. And yes, you need a sealed room so you don’t die of CO2 poisoning.
With good light, nutrients, and training you can grow a 1lb plant.
Old (pre-2020) Vipar Spectras heat well.
V1200 (535 watts), R900 (430 watts), 600, 2000, 1000 all cheap, but warmers.
HLGs not good heaters, but great lights.
Good lights get My vote
Thats why i am asking because when i spoke to the agent at HLG customer service he asked if i was running co2 after i told him how loud i ran my light before. I was getting 1600 PPFD across the canopy with HLG Rspecs 320 and 700 FRs in my 4×4 tent!
Love the HLGs.
2.8xwatts=good numbers
620x2.8=1736ppdf
@MartyMarajuanaseed here’s a thought maybe others can weigh in on. If ya dial the light back the heat in your space wouldn’t be so hot. At peak flower I run mine at 700-800. Any higher i start to get foxtails. This week I just dialed back to 650 and next week 600 to finish them off.
1300PPDF/55DLI/six weeks into flower.
20-25 inches above, which is higher than HLG says to run them (Flower 15).
Too much heat and praying occurs at 15-20 (or they were not conditioned).
Now they get this 1200-1500 and I am looking for issues.
This is what i am planning this run. Last run i had my PPFD at 700 during the onset of flower and it stunted them. I was using the Photone par calculator for recommended DLIs and i got stunted growth.
This time i am easing into 1000 PPFD at the flip to 12/12. I am not just ramping it up but turni g it up slowly over the course of a week so i dont stress the plants. Then slowly take it back down to 600 PPFD for the finish. But i found out that you need the high PPFD at the onset of flower for sure.
As in lung room hot (So facing garage), not HLG lights.
When I measured full summer sun, at 5pm and little wild fire smoke haze, I measured 150KLUX (outdoor sunlight blasting).
For my indoor grow the full grow was 11.5/12.5 (flower tent usage).
As soon as any plant had roots, I put them down on the flower tent floor.
Because of lung room heat, only recently, have I been able to control tent heat with 600 watts of 2.8 umols.
I can’t speak to “stunted growth” as I seem to favor short ladies (so true).
I probably did more “stunt” with 11.5/12.5 vice 18/6 with veging.
Flowering clones also n flower tent awaiting root growth (wish to keep them flowering, maybe). Upon closer reflectings, my short ladies have wide node spacing, until full flower. The spaces are being filled with golf ball size buds.
i want one !
I read on your thread and think i’m going through high pons due to high salts and not flushing nor testing but am testing runoff tonight !! hope i run into similar result . 1st grow from seed using 1/3ffof 2/3ffhf with the trio and cal mag .
Do you have a journal? If not, I can post photos and cut list for you in my grow log.
i’m gunna start one tonight !
