Chunky Monkey’s Grow Journal

This is the pic I was looking for. Such a stoner… Left the lowers and put back in the tent to harden up. The clipped was 225 g wet so this auto will be just over 2 zips dried. Taloula approves.

Nice haul man! Congratulations on the beefy looking buds!

Thanks @MartyMarajuanaseed 7 or so days then into the Grove bags. Then we wait for the rest to finish up probably around the end of June.

I know you grow organically but i have a question. I grow with Jack321 a synthetic and they say to use it every time i water. I am wondering if a water feed every other time would be more beneficial? I guess it would depend on how often they need watered because they are taking about a week to dry out. I think that would be too long of a stretch to go without nutrients if i feed every other watering? That would be 2 weeks in between each feeding then. Thats definitely too long. But if i was watering them every other day, it would be a better practice probably. I have a tomato plant thats looking over fed. I feed it twice a week with Jacks Blossom Booster with plenty run off but its looking stressed. I wonder if its too much fertilizer? Or just the heat from the sun? The leaves are cupping and curling. Especially the new growth at the top.

@MartyMarajuanaseed Good question. I started with FoxFarms trio. Burned the hell out of my plants because I didn’t realize they only needed 1/2 strength and to use the nutes every other watering and flush every so often. I haven’t used Jacks but I believe The key would be to check the ppm at H20 watering runoff. If it gets down to 6-700 ppm then the next watering add the nutes.

@Lostgirl can explain this better than I can. She is on her plant whisperer game.

Just took down the last part of the Blueberry. It was a good call to leave the lowers to harden up. They did just that. Pulled another 94g wet so just under a zip dried. The first part of the plant came in at 70g/2.5 oz dried and trimmed. So 3.3 on this little auto.

Congratulations @ChunkyMonkey with you’re wonderful harvest. Girl scout cookie extreme is the bomb.

Not knowing anything about your grow Marty I can try to answer you in general question about watering.

Some people do a feed water alternation. I personally don’t as it makes it a little more difficult to control and maintain 1000 PPM runoff (what you’re looking for in your plants to ensure they’re getting the proper nutrients)

I don’t use Jack’s and know very little amount it however it’s only nutrients. With that said I would imagine you have a Target ppm number that you feed your plants in nutrients and your documenting the numbers both intake ppms and pH also your runoff ppms and pH

Running off and collecting the ppms and pH will dictate what your plant will eat/require on the next feed. Your goal is to maintain 1,000 PPM on your runoff.

Example
If you mixed your water and nutrients and your plants total feed mix is 700 ppms and your runoff was 840 PPM you would feed it slightly higher than 700 PPM on your next feed to raise your runoff PPM

In the same scenario if you fed at 700 PPM and your runoff was 1340 PPM then you would feed less than 700 PPM next time.

By doing this every time you feed you will Master how much to feed your plant every time. It’s at that point you can feel confident all is well.

Always be sure that your plants are getting their dry time. The plants need oxygen and cannot get that when the soils wet. When I order my plant to run off I do not want it again until I pick it up and it feels like a loaf of bread.

As far as your tomatoes go. (Again I know nothing about your situation) But common Sense tells me you haven’t had them outside anymore than a month and a half. Feeding them has a lot to do with whether you’re in ground soil, a pot with soil, or a raised bed. Nevertheless, Jack’s Bloom booster is a 10-30-20 that doesn’t seem too bad of an NPK for tomatoes that are less than 2 months old but I don’t think you should be watering them with the nutrients every time. So I believe you answered your own question you are overfeeding your tomatoes. Mine are a little over a month outside and I just started feeding them 10 10 10

I hope some of this helps. Good luck to you

Alrighty then! This is the Amnesia Haze top colas. Tric pics at different levels. This is a more sativa strain so I don’t want a lot of amber. Pull these tops and let the lower buds age more? The lowers are tight against the tops and aren’t getting any air and not much light. I worry about rot.

Nothing wrong with harvesting the ones at the top Growmie, I’ve done partial harvesting several times to let the lower fruit ripen some more :love_you_gesture:

Totally agree with our Mysterious friend (@OGIncognito ) :smiling_imp:
It’s a perfectly viable way of harvesting!

Feels like hanging Christmas ornaments! 671 G wet so right at 167g / 6 OZ dry and I have 1/3 of the plant left. Everything on this plant is dense and rock-hard. Zero larf. It will be interesting to see how the lowers fatten up.

Thank you all and the many not mentioned for your insight and wisdom. Truly a great group!

Nice SCROG frames @ChunkyMonkey and an excellent partial harvest.

Thank you Master. I’ll get that one-pound plant eventually. Learned a lot in training this one.

I’ve done a couple partial harvest leaving the lower 40 to 50% of the plant to harden up I also spread out the branches and tied them to the polls of the tent.

I’ve had good success with it. If you’re patient and can let it go several weeks and you’re trichomes are cooperating they’ll get quite hard.

Nice Haul
