Yes, but the add on later could get there. I don’t have any problem loading them to max, except for when it comes to stuff like that. I only trust that cheesy plastic so much.

Then you also have a small hit in efficiency loaded at minimum as well. If it were me, I would probably opt for the 240.

Well to get to max he would have to add another 7 strips

I guess with the 320 you wouldn’t be getting close to that wattage anyway so yea the 240 would be more in the ballpark for 8 strips you would even have room to add a strip with the c1400 or a couple with the c1050

I fell behind here sorry. I run mine at 700ma, have at 1050 just to see what they do so I was comfortable instructing others to do so when it made sense. I’m good with 1050, but I wouldn’t really instruct anyone to run them at 1400. I’m sure with a little surface area they would do fine as far as longevity. But the current/temp relationship pushing efficacy to marginal levels, hard say build this kick ass light that doesn’t kick as much ass.

I’d you dont want to do 4000k from seed to harvest I would do something like 6 fseries and 4 of the 3000k eb stripa, that would be around 100$ for 10 strips and give you a little bit of a mix, but from people I’ve talked to that have grown 4000 from seed to harvest, they seem to do pretty well.

I’m a noob trying to learn. Been a lil busy of late and stopped researching the leds. My head was on the qb and adding more lights later. That is the plan, If I don’t come up with some answers before the qb304 gets back in stock. That’s my problem. I don’t know what to do. I’m just now watching YouTube trying you figure out how to do the math and calculations, so I can build the best light roughly within $380 or less price range, without sacrificing on efficiency.

I’m now thinking of 10 strips (5 each)3000 & 4000K just to get an even mix. Then do I use 1 or 2 drivers and how to figure this out?

Would 10 mixed like this just be the same as doing it in all 3500k? This is where I’m at after reading replies from @dbrn32. F🤬 it! Ima smoke some blueberry and relax for the night.

Might get a price break if you buy 10 of the same. At least it usually works that way at Digikey. For picking a driver, you just add all the strip voltages up and look for a driver that can supply that total voltage at the current you want to use. They have a range of voltages they can supply and a maximum current, but probably have a means to adjust the current to about 50% maximum. That may be an internal pot, terminals for an external pot, or terminals for a 0-10 volt input. You should probably stick with Mean Well: They are not expensive, work well, and have hundreds of different models.

If you can’t find a driver that will handle all 10, find smaller drivers that will handle 5 each.

Arrow only has 8 3000k @1BigFella. The HLG-320H-C1050B Is the driver I chose from Arrow but I can’t find the voltage for the BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-B3 anywhere on the information page that’s making the process harder.

They are 19.5v with a max current of 1.4a. The typical load is around 700mA. But the driver you have is too big. I would go with the hlg-240h-c1050b because with 10 strips at 1050mA is only going to give you 204w at max
And the general consensus is mixing 3000k and 4000k would give you around a 3500k blend. While I doubt its exactly the same. The results would probably be nil compared to just using 3500k. I think 3000k and 4000k would be a good blend tbh

Haha a 3x3x5 tent. The f series is available at Digikey and I could do 5 double strips. Would have 6’ of u channel leftover so I could add 2-3 single strips or just another double. After I figure out the strips and and get a rough idea of what I’d be getting outputs

Yup. Equal amount of 4000k and 3500k in sphere tests out at about 3500k spectrum

Do you know of any studies that show that the plants cant sense both the 3000k and 4000k. Obviously the equipment shows that, but that doesnt mean the plants uptake that the same. If you know what I am trying to say. Not saying that’s not the case just interested in reading about it. @dbrn32

Although I guess if the light is blended before it hits the leaves how is the plant going to know they were 2 different cct scales
