Calmag Question - and value conversion question

Hey @Jayjay504 I’m doing ok. Now as for your question. I would say it’s ok to use in flower stage, it’s one of the main nutrients used in forming your buds, now with that said I would be careful if I was to pH down to use pH up to add the K. Make sure I have a good “normal” gallon of water setting aside in case numbers on run off go crazy.

Okay let’s say I give my tiger bloom and Big Bloom and it puts my pH at 5:00 for example so when I use that pH up to bring it to 6.5 that’s considered extra k that I’m giving the plant? In a way I could use the ph up as a k supplement?

That sounds right in theory and in my head. The water mix already has it in then adding pH up with extra k in it…

Cool, I wish I would have been using it more off than I’ve been thought about this theory but never really checked into it. Got another question so I seen my PPM should be around 12 to 1400 going in and like I said they’re only at 6 or 7 so to get it to 12 to 1400 I would have to add five or six teaspoons of tiger bloom. And I know that’s not the correct answer right? I would definitely burn them if I added that much tiger bloom right? So how do I get the ppms to that number?

What’s your current mix now full nutrition amount to amount of water going into the plant pot?

Like how much of what are you mixing to what an are you giving the full water mix to the plant?

Well I usually use a gallon of tap water ppms is like 280 out the tap. Then I mix two or three teaspoons of Big Bloom and two teaspoons tiger bloom and split that gallon between both of the plants

I am in 3 gallon pots of ffof

Ok I’m going to do this the best way I can. I’m not going to give you any information on this bc I don’t want to be wrong. I’m going to Tag @Lostgirl @Storm @Bentstick @T-ray I’m confident in an expert answer for you.

3 gallon plastic pots of ffof. So they get about a half a gallon each every day

Some days I skip the nutrients and use just spring water with a couple drops of lemon juice to bring the pH down

I don’t use tiger bloom I am using Lotus Pro series

Yes I remember you told me. Can I see your plants? What lights you use?

AGLEX K1000 100W, and supplemental LEDs as needed.

Had moved the bigger one to do some SC training she is a reveg project.

Both Photoperiod THC Bomb hybrid.

Nice setup, so a 100 w LED veggies and flowers two plants?

No. I add light to it for flower. Or I will move one, have not crossed that bridge yet. Lol

I honestly didn’t expect the reveg to work I thought she would die.

WTF :open_mouth::thought_balloon:
Hi Jay, good question. However, it’s not the way to get potassium into your plant. As a matter of fact you shouldn’t use pH up more than two times in your entire life! And that’s only because you made a mistake phing down too far :victory_hand:

In short, only use pH up or down to adjust your Waters pH levels

Feeding your plant 600-700ppm doesn’t seem unreasonable but the more important question would be. What are your runoff numbers both pH and PPM?

As we said before pH up is not a supplement for K. Your plant might absorb the three drops that it took to adjust your pH but I’m wanting to consider that a supplement

Again the more important question would be what’s the PPM coming out? (Runoff)

Yes you’re correct you would burn your plan up after the first feed.

It sounds to me like you’re a little lost on feeding your plant

Your goal is to obtain 1,000 PPM in your runoff that you catch after watering your plant. I see you’re in 3 gallon plastic pots it takes 1-1/2 gallons of water to feed each one of those plants in 3 gallon pots to obtain a few cups of water which is considered 15 to 20% run off

This runoff is the water that comes out of the bottom of the pot after you water it. (You catch all of that water in a pan)

You then test the pH of that water along with the PPM of that water. This will dictate what to feed your plant next.

You’re using what’s called Fox farm trio which is considered one of the saltiest nutrients on the market. You need to be regularly watering your plant (each plant) at least 1-1/2 gallons of water as we discussed above. Fox farm also requires a maintenance flush. I believe it’s like every 30 days have you been doing that?

The salt build up in your plants will create serious problems in the very near future.

I’m not trying to be an ass nor do I mean any disrespect by this next statement.

This thread was started by someone looking for some cow mag assistance. Most don’t mind but some do when we hi Jack their post by asking questions in their post that result insubstantial amount of off topic questions answers and posts.

I strongly suggest that you start a new post maybe even a journal with your specific issues. This way your problems are addressed specifically to your needs by a group of members to maybe more experienced in your issues.

Again don’t take this the wrong way I would start another post.
