@lovenature I’ve water cured before and the results are pretty cool. The smoke is VERY smooth! The taste does get diminished but I would rather have a smooth smoke. It’s also good if you have some moldy buds. 100% complete submersion will get rid of the mold. You still have to let it dry to the correct humidity and then store as usual.
Directions
Here’s what you need to do:
- After harvesting your flowers, grab your trimming scissors and remove the sugar leaves from each bud. Keep the trimmings to make hash or edibles later on.
- Place your manicured buds into your mason jars and cover them with clean, room temperature water.
- Give your jars a gentle shake and change the water once per day. A clean batch of water will work more efficiently to continually absorb unwanted phytochemicals. Continue this process for the next 5–7 days.
- Strain your buds; place them on your drying rack to remove the rest of the water content before smoking.

Oooh I wish I had thought about this before tossing my bag of bud - it wasn’t awful but there was definitely a little bud rot creeping in (my weed storage fridge was on a tripped breaker and it’s the ONLY thing plugged into that breaker so I didn’t see it for a few days. By then, too hot and humid for even a grove bag to combat)

Very good to hear from a veteran grower that is the case. I can’t find a whole lot about it on the internet either…Wierd.
So like 5-7 days of water cure Declorinated/filtered?? or it doesn’t matter?
then just let it dry… Sounds too simple !! LOL!

I’d be thinking of peroxide soak first and then water cure???

That sucks about the breaker. I’ve got this old cheapo temp alarm on my outside fridge that the cord just gets closed over by the door magnet/seal…not real efficient “tiny leak there” cord is really thin though. it just beeps when the temp rises it was like 12 bucks 20 years ago!

I also added a Tablespoon of peroxide at water change. Just to keep things more sterile.

Hey @Myfriendis410 , seriously? that seems like alot per jar , is that a pint jar or half gallon?
Or is that for the moldy stuff only , not the reg bud for wet cure… Edit trying to sponge this style up so all input is greatly appreciated.!!!

Don’t forget to change the water every day and make sure the buds are 100% submerged. If you need to you can fill a baggie with water to weight it down… kinda like pickling weights.

Thanks for the input @Myfriendis410 , I only did a couple of buds didn’t use peroxide… It well …tastes like shit but got me high and to note it was a different high than the reg cured . I’ll pass on future attempts FWIW! @Caligurl

Interesting. When I tried it, the taste was blah… almost non-existent when you compare it to non-watercured bud but it definitely didn’t taste bad at all. And I can see where it might have been a different high as you might have lost some of the terpene profile.

yeah the taste wasn’t nasty just really odd/off … maybe I needed to dry/cure it longer? I didn’t think “curing” it would matter, or make much difference. And the high was stronger I think… probably cause it really shrank down so to speak so I think there was actually “more bud per bowl” If that makes sense …? @Caligurl
