BRING IN THE SOUND Community Grow

It’s time to make this official!

We’ll be dropping seeds on August 1st. We’ll be looking to switch to flower schedule in 3-5 weeks. We can adjust accordingly based on how the plants react to the sound. Some may want to flip sooner if the plants take off, but 5 weeks will be the max.

So, now is the time to get your set up ready. Get your grow space prepped, determine how you’ll introduce the sound to your plants. And choose your sound. Are you going to play lullabies to the them or are you going 80s Hair Band?

Of course, like anything else, we have to have some rules and guidelines, so here we go>

The goal is to document your grow from start to finish so we can see the effects sound has on the growth.

DO NOT POST ANYTHING IN THIS TOPIC OTHER THAN PARTICIPATING GROWERS WEEKLY UPDATES

  • Keep general discussion and questions in the separate chat thread
  • Try to keep posts clear and easy to follow

FIRST POST
On your first post, type up a quick intro on your set up, medium, nutes, lights, sound type and how it’s being broadcasted

Share at least one photo of your setup

Weekly Updates

We will start weekly updates on the August 1-2. I realize everyone’s schedule is a little different, if you miss a weekend post, try to get it in as soon as possible.

4 ILGM Girl Scout Cookies Extreme beans went swimming last night at 12:01.
I am using a Bluetooth boom to introduce sound 24 hours a day. Night and early morning include a mix of nature sounds and plant growth specific music, followed by a eclectic mix of rock, rap and country. Once the ladies have sprouted a tap root they will be placed into peat pots with a mix of my living soil mix and seed starting medium and they will hang out in my 2x4 tent until time to transplant.

Happy Growing Everyone

No pics, yet, but my first post goes like this…

3 GSCE Fem
Roots Organics Original Soil
Jack’s 321 at normal ratios
HLG Diablo 200
HLG 350r
2½’x5’ Vivosun Tent
6" AC Infinity fan/filter
12" regular osc fan

Sounds… Instrumental soft rock and jazz, also using forest and rain sounds some nights.

AUGUST 1…

Dropped 3 GSCE Fem, not ready to plant.

They will sit in the garage in 1 gallon bags, all same environment for 4-6weeks. Then into 3 gallon bags and to the attic where the tent will be set up. There, a couple/few more weeks of veg, then flower around Oct 1.

I will do my best to give sound to only 1 plant the entire time, and use two other plants as controls. I was unable to get an actual small sound system, so I will be using a powerful Bluetooth speaker once they have established their roots in the 1 gallon bags.

My next update will probably be in 7-10 days. I start working a lot more tomorrow, but will do my best to keep a somewhat routine posting schedule.

Stay Lit y’all!!!

Days from drop 1
Temps 78-83 tent RH %75-80
The seeds went into their peat pots. It contains a mix of seed starter and living soil mixed at a 50/ 50 ratio with some microrizal added and a core of staight seed starter. I mulched with rice hulls to help improve mositure retention, add silica and help prevent fungus gnats. A cup has been used as a humidity dome. They were then placed in a 2x4 under a Mars Hydro FC4000 EVO. It is also equipped with a 6inch inline fan with carbon filter and 2 clip on fans but they are currently off. They are receiving 24 hour a day sound. Now we are on a watch for green above soil
Happy Growing All

A post was merged into an existing topic: Bring In The Sound Community Grow CHAT THREAD

So first little gal lifted her head while I was at work today, I expect the second to show up soon.

Temps running 77°f, humidity only 46% but I just fired up the humidifier.
I’ll swap the NL and Sour Lemon to the north side of the tent and move the GSCX’s to a table on the south.

Edit: I expect temps to jump biggly when I fire up the second light.
Music will start tonight, two hours of old country (think Slim Whitman) played softly on a JBL Flip 5.

Crazy.
Wondergal #2 has popped up!
Not a wonder that beans would show together, but howit happened was funny.
My Missus is having a bad day.
I tell her to check out the room, a Cookie is up.
Missus came back an hour later and said it’s two!
I’m betting less than a couple of hours above soil.

Ok I posted in the other group chat so hopefully this is the correct one lol

They haven’t popped yet but I soaked the seeds for 24 hours then placed them into their starter pots I did see one just starting to push through the dirt so that’s a good sign. I will post my next update and hopefully we will see some baby’s poking through the dirt. I’m using Great Lakes start to Finnish grow dirt and I’ll be using lotus nutrients line.

I opted to put the gals on the north side of the tent this morning.
Gave them a little drink of South Texas well water and adjusted the light to 250 par.

Just started the 2 hour music session (might bump that to 3 hours). The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is playing softly, and I did unplug the UV light for this.
In a bit I’ll give them a taste of Bocelli and Brightman:

BTW, when I’m super high in the shower I can sing both sides of this duet in perfect pitch…
The orchestra absolutely hates the acoustics (and wrapping their instruments in plastic bags).
