Hi Folks,
does anyone have any experience using bleach free paper coffee (unused) filters to germinate my 5 x Auto seeds in ?
Where I live, bleach free paper towels do not exist , and I suspect that is what has been nuking my seeds in the past as I have had dreadful results although I use Evian and water, complete darkness and a heated propagator @ 75F in complete darkness…help please.

Peroxide is generally used to bleach coffee filters and is harmless. If you can drink coffee from using them, then I can’t imagine that there are any problems.

Thanks for your reply…I am grasping at straws here as I have had lost too many seeds not germinating, and ILGM’s quality seeds do not ship to the UK anymore…mega drag ! , but many thanks for your info although ILGM does recommends bleach free paper towels I live in hope.

My coffee filters are Unbleached natural paper and paper towels here have been bleached to make them white.

Have you tried putting your seeds directly into starter soil? That is how nature does it.

I live on the edge of the UK with the sheep and cows and cheap weed is a thing the Pot Mafia do not subscribe to here.
Its US $27 a gram and there are 28 grams in an ounce…which is about my monthly pension more or less. I think I should go back to Goa in India and watch the sunsets

Hey @James68 good to see you again. Going back to our discussion about the CannaKan in the other thread, here is the lab papers that are used in it. They are bleach free and chemically inert, so it could be what you are looking for. It’s about $7 for 100. They are thick enough/woven tightly enough where the taproot won’t grow through it and get caught up in it. I had that happen with paper towels before and it tore the taproot trying to pull it off the towel. I hope that helps. Do take care.

my 5 x Auto Strawberry Cheesecakes popped over night and they have very beautiful long white radicles…I used unbleached new coffee filters and gently sandwiched the beans between them and gave them room temperature Evian water all in a monitored heated propagator… Lo and Behold IL:GM good advice rocks !!!..I am ordering the lab papers today you kindly mentioned yesterday and I will send you some pics of my Pilgrims Progress with this years herb …James in West Wales

it is definitely harsh over here fer sure and it costs a bundle yet funny enough sm*ck is cheap and anything ending in a ‘K’ is also.
I loves the Green myself and it is my 55th year of puffing, bonging , chilluming / now vaping.

Very cool my friend. Congrats! Yes, the coffee filters is what I also switched to after I tore that one root radical. Nothing wrong with staying with those if you are good.
I ordered the Healeved 100 sheets that you recommended through Amazon tonight , and it will take 2 x weeks to arrive as they come from America…I think they are coming by flying fish !..what fun !
