Best methods for harvest/drying auto NL

Hey again, when I started cutting I would work down till I noticed some of lower buds were not ready yet, the lower ones did not get as much sun so they are about a week or so behind the top ones. There is 5 plants so I had a lot to do. I’m hoping to Finnish them tomorrow if the weather warms up again.

Hey ice, are you growing out side? If you are you will need two of them lol. I could not get all of one plant on mine. But we started
cutting the stems at about 18 inches so it filled it up fast. I think you will like it a lot.

Inside grow 4 plants each over 5ft maybe just do 2 at a time

Should I have my girls in total darkness before I cut them to dry if so how long

One thing I just wanted to add is to make sure that you do not dry them too fast. My first grow of AK-47 (awesome stuff by the way) I dried it too fast at the start but caught it before It was beyond repair. Drying too fast on the outside can set you up for mold later on if the insides of the buds are too wet. Curing in mason jars makes for some sweet smoke. Just make sure to “burp” them regularly.

A couple Days in the dark before cutting them down is what seems to be the opinion of most that I have seen on this site. It seemed to work well for me. Good luck on your harvest.

Hey thanks a lot first one followed bible to the end can’t wait to start next one any experience using humidity packs

I have not found the need for humidity packs if you keep them sealed in mason jars and keep them in the dark. Just like everything else, check periodically to make sure they smell OK in the jar and to replace the air. Don’t let mold get into your stash. I used humidity packs once and not on the second one. No problems without them.

Ok cool won’t order any thanks

I bought some just in case- however I’m having trouble with high humidity so had to buy a dehumidifier for the drying room. Keep us posted on your process, I’m about a week or so from harvesting I think.
best,
Mari

BTW- what strain is that? How many days from germination to harvest?

Look like gold-leaf or Jack Herrer , but to answer your question Iceberg , I’ve never used humidity packs . Once I dry in tent , I put in jars and each day I pour out to move buds around while burping the jars until buds become harden.

When hanging to dry do you do manicure trim of wait until time for jar

I trim mines wet right after I cut from plant . I trim big fan leaves , and cautiously trim smaller leaves that grow out of buds that is covered in crystals . After trimming I hang for 7-10 days with small fan circulating in grow tent with lights off , 78 degrees around 45 -55 % humidity until dry to the touch and stem snaps . Than put in brown bag for another 3-5 days and than mason jars , open jars each day dumping and filling buds back into jars, just to rotate the buds around for about another 3-5 days , and sample the smoke until you satisfied if you was purchasing ?

Hi everyone, looking for some advice, this is my 2nd grow and I don’t want to get the drying wrong this time, the first time I hung from the peg hanging method as I could not get paper bags that big, we using them for drying socks normally, the first time I dried them hanging with the lights on as I had another plant in growing, but this dried her to quick and ruined it, so this time I split the stem 4 days ago and she’s been in the dark since yesterday, she’ll stay in the dark another 3 days until Saturday and that’s when I plan to harvest, I have 2 plant’s ready to go into the grow room so I can’t dry her in the dark in there, so what do you recommend? I have my peg hanger and I have 2 , 6 layer hanging herb dryer, so I’m keen to hear all your advice before I need to harvest, please help me I don’t want to ruin this one

This is a good information piece on harvesting. The biggest thing is to NOT have any light when drying. The light will degrade the THC. Darkness and air circulation are key to getting a good dry. Making sure that the buds are turned on a regular basis if laying down so the dry evenly. Hope this helps. Jerry
