I wanna try this and see what its hitting for
Grows are looking fantastic, as usual. Froot by the foot is shaping up nice.
Thank you!! We getting some fat buds this round!!
Just wanted to take some time and share with you guys something iv been doing with the last four grows that iv found to be very helpful and have made a big difference for me.
From the very beginning of me washing my coco before iv even planted a seed iv been adding a teaspoon of lime (5gallon)and washing it in. Just regular down to earth dolo.
Iv had zero ph drifts after doing this, it’s added huge stability to the coco as it dries up, no more ph fluctuations until the next watering and not to mention the root zone doesn’t see those small changes once or twice a day, just stability!
Planted the next seed this morning, mango smiles by mephisto! Had real good luck with it when I was going organic so let’s try it this way!
Praying mantis looking like “can I help you” . Since you test your soil/coco directly like that do you do that before or after watering?
Yea lol! I thought she was pretty cool!!
To get an accurate reading I would test before and after so see how much change would happen, after adding lime it doesn’t really change at all… this was the following morning and it was still right where it was 45 days ago.
Do you just mix in 1 teaspoon for a 5 gallon pot? Or bigger amounts? Do you water it in and mix it together in coco? Can it be top fed and watered in? This is music to my ears. I have that same meter you have. I never used it yet though. I just made the change too ProMix/ peat moss and I’ve already experienced a pH fluctuation.
Yes sir! That meter is worth more than gold!! 1teaspoon per 5 gallons of coco, I just top dress it and let it filter through.
It doesn’t take a lot with coco! Much much less than soil.
You should totally try using the meter in the peat and report your finding!
What lime product do you use? I understand its Dolomite Lime but is it in powder form, instant release? I have a bag of Epsoma lime but it looks time released or something. It takes awhile.
I also grabbed some Chitosan. How is this best applied? Sorry, i know this is alot.
Hey bud, sorry for the late response… I use just down to earth dolo. I don’t think your lime would be any different? I believe all lime is time released? I believe this is what makes it so long lasting?
The chito from my understanding is applied early on, some claim every three weeks but even just a couple applications was enough for me?
Its no problem, i don’t expect a quick answer. Ok so, i ended up getting this stuff off Amazon. Take a look at it. It says fast acting and its a powder that is clumped together in rocks thay say?
That sounds okay. Just need to break it up first. Work it in the top and water away
I know it’s only been a short 4 days since my last update but it’s been a productive 4 days I think. Day 53 or something I think…
Might have to get me some help for this harvest again… what a shame…
Yea man she getting thick
I grind mine real fine in a grain mill, doesn’t take as long to start, but all dolomite dissolves on the slow side. Fine powder works well for deficiencies or quick ph tweaking.
Can you use that in soil?
Yes soil or Promix either one.
