Autos Adventurous Grows

Good morning, hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday.

She’s very happy lately, seems even more happy now that the airdome was turned on. I’ll give her another 3-4 days and then give her another top.

Question
I’m almost positive that I know the answer to this because of what I did recently and yall said what the hell did you do :sob:. So do I only have to take the very top growth off ? Or should I cut it back a node like I have been doing. Something is telling me I just need to take the very top growth off for her to say ok well make these ones mains ? If that makes sense I took pictures especially of the very top in case yall wanted to better show me off my picture by editing it. ( by no means do not feel like you have to). Really we’re just trying to keep @Lightbrightt2010 from calling on me :oncoming_fist:t3::love_you_gesture:t3:

** Very top of cola**

Yes, if you top the very last node, the plant will redirect her energy to the lower nodes. So that particular branch stops growing longer and all the node beneath it take up the slack/benefits from it.

Thank you kap :folded_hands:t3: so essentially I was adding more time to my growing journey by stripping away growth rather than just taking the very top :expressionless_face: another thing added to the book of knowledge. :oncoming_fist:t3::love_you_gesture:t3:

With photoperiod planties, it’s all about the canopy and how long you want to train. Every cultivar is different and after a while, you reach a point of diminishing return. If you train your plants for 3 months only to get a few ounces, it might not be viable for you. In that case you train a bit less and harvest more often. It’s all a game of knowing your cultivar’s reaction to training.

Autos are different because they are more prone to being traumatized by rough handling and they flower when they are ready…

It felt like it was taking months on end I’m pretty sure the last one was like close to 7 months. I mean granite I returned around 400 grams if not a little more. I feel like if I would have just done it this way with taking the top and not cutting back it would have been a lot less time. I’m learning that’s for sure :oncoming_fist:t3:. The only time I hit less than 3 ounces was when I very first started. Im sure we all remember the foop stage . With everything learned thus far I have a good feeling I’m moving out of that 7 month stage :folded_hands:t3:

I forget the last time I did an auto run, I think I’m definitely due for one shortly. Maybe after this one I just hate how little they yield and you don’t really know what to expect out of it.

It’s all about auxin IAA (indole acetic acid). It’s a growth hormone produced in the very tip of the new growth and transported downward to suppress lateral branching(among many other things) and direct growth upward. When you remove the tip you limit IAA and therefore the suppression effect for a while. You can also achieve similar results by bending the tip over so the nodes are levelish so all the nodes are “apical” nodes. One of the most fun aspects of cannabis IMO is trying different training methods to manipulate plant structure. It’s also just plain fun to see how much a plant can handle every once in a while.

If your veggin 3 months your gonna have a :poop: load of tops. But the more tops can mean (but not always)smaller buds. IMO 2 months veg is plenty. In coco 2 months makes a monster. I usually go 5 or 6 weeks veg max. But I grow 4 plants under each light. And each light has a 5x5 footprint :footprints:. So I really only have 1.25 square feet per plant. But I end up with 4 plants and a 7x7 canopy. I still get at least 5 to 6 Ozs a plant unless I have a runt they are usually 3 to 4 ozs

Thanks for the knowledge @Gl1tch :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::love_you_gesture:t3:

I usually try to shoot for 8-16 tops so after this top coming I’ll have one more to do and then I can go ahead and flip it

lol I couldn’t contain myself and @Lightbrightt2010 is about to pull out that damn number :joy: but give her a day or two again then we’ll go from there.

plus side

She has 8 heads now. I messed up on trying to just take the top and so I had to just cut a node back.

I forget your a Manifold /Mainline kinda grower my bad so the long veg is very understandable. They need more recovery time

She took 11 days this go around hopefully she stays on that path and before we know it it’ll be around that time. :love_you_gesture:t3::flexed_biceps:t3::oncoming_fist:t3:

Good morning
Starting off the morning with belt upgrade with the kiddo

Before leaving we snagged a pic, Took it like a champ :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::oncoming_fist:t3:

What rank and style? I studied Shotokan
:victory_hand::love_you_gesture::oncoming_fist:

She’s moving up to a black and yellow belt, right now she’s practicing Shotokan. But not fully they wait until they’re in higher ranks to teach them more in depth. So they have her doing the blend of general martial arts, self-defense and fitness training

Morning growmies plant looks great :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns:

Thank you brother, hopefully the day is treating you well thus far :oncoming_fist:t3::love_you_gesture:t3:

Good day growmies. Here’s how this morning went. These plant bendy things are kinda cool. Only the 4 taller ones got the bendies. The shorter ones were left alone to catch up and get some growth before I start remotely trying to mess with them.

Been a little bit since I posted, been getting backed up setting up my business and building my website and online booking page. So much fun let me tell ya :man_facepalming:t3:.

Plus side she’s moving along great and is pending her final top. She slowed down a little bit so I wasn’t able to knock it out within those 11 days. So now we wait a little bit longer to give her some height. Pop a node back and after that wait about 2 ish weeks and then flip her to flower. Silica really doing something to these damn stems :sob: I’m scared to touch them.

Good afternoon growmies, question for the legend @Dman1969

So I know around July 17th you said I should start with 5 ml per gallon of silica and cal mag.

You said you normally go about 10 ml a gallon of each. I was thinking about giving her a heavy feed this time around as one more week she should be getting her Final Cut on the two sides.

2 of the sides have 4 colas now I topped them to slow them down and allow the other side to catch up. I’m thinking about 2-3 weeks I’ll be flipping to flower.

Now I’m making the new feed and I was thinking should I do 10 ml per gallon of cal mag and silica or keep it how I was doing ?
