I mean with the nutrients sitting waiting to be used. If i make a gallon of foop and leave it in the 5 gallon about 1-4 hours later the ph in the bucket will rise or drop. Then I’ll have to sit there and have to ph it back to where I can use it.
That’s what I’m getting at. You are pH adjusting nutrients that aren’t directly available to the plants. The microbes eat them, process them, poop them out, and the plant consumes. Microbes buffer the pH through consumption.
Weird for coco, but bottom fed is another thing altogether. Not flushing out anything allowing the microbes to work.
Edit
To contradict myself and foop even further it is not recommended to let foop stand after mixing. lol.
Just wanted to throw it out there regardless.
Edit again,
You could consider bottom feeding… hmm. Mix when needed. Idk.
Well that makes a lot of sense. Yea foop is gonna be out away after this grow and if need be god forbid ever ill have that to turn back to but I have a feeling it’ll be tossed somewhere down the road.
Due to auto pots having a reservoir it would end up sitting until it got used by the plant. So if anything I would end up initially having to bypass the reservoir and just fill the pots at the bottom and allow them to eat that way.
Maybe I’ll hold on to the foop and when it becomes legal here and I can go outside I’ll use it in the soil instead.
If it were me I’d just walk away from it, until going to soil. lol. Just have been trying to wrap my mind around the idea of organic in coco.
We’re slowly getting to that point. 11 more weeks and it’s done .
I’ve tried wrapping my head around it, don’t your walls will look like the Daytona 500
Looks like I missed all the fun. BTW I’ve had a few of them blue TDS meters and none of them read accurately(compared to my calibrated PC60) for more than a few weeks. Probably not the root of your “problems”, but food for thought. That being said chasing numbers with organics is like herding cats with a garden hose. I didn’t snap till after reading about your troubles, but here’s pictorial to demonstrate just how tricky in can get trying to chase and balance numbers in an organic situation. Better to just leave that work to the microbes in soil and stick with synthetics in an artificial environment like coco.
Hope the new pen and nutes smooth things out for you. I’m sure it will.
Yea we got to the point it’s a feed and walk away until she doesn’t look ti happy anymore lol. Then we’ll go in and bring her back to relatively normal for her to throw a fit again. I will never be using foop nutrients in coco again. I’ve learned the hard way .
All the new stuff is being used next go around this way I know I’m completely ready to go and nothing is gonna be broke. Everything is going to be new going in
Since I haven’t posted a pic of her in a week, she’s still going strong. She ended up hitting the net and a part of her took off more than the rest of the plant so some got bent over, some of it is bushed down from the net and some are working its way up through. About a week I should start seeing her near her end of stretch but who knows with this damn plant she has a mind of her own .
If she’s still stretching going into week 2 from flip I’m gonna go ahead and add the second net and work her through some more. I might not need to with her being a indica/sativa dominant but I’m not willing to hold my breath with her. Is it true indica doesn’t stretch to much if any at all ? It’s mainly the Sativas that take that big stretch ?
I know she looks ragged right now from being weaved, she’ll get over it
Could probably use some defoliation but I’ll let her hold off until mid flower unless yall think I should get in there and open her up a little bit.
Looking great! Strong cultivar to put up with all the sh!t
He may be on your level you’ve had some rough number running days if I recall
Absolutely have. being diligent is key. The last one for me, kinda made me walk away from the hobby. Tried my hardest and it backfired because of a malfunction in feeds caused by our kid.. At least aesthetically for pictures. I try hard to provide valuable content and document my process, so that was like. Well. It put me in a bad place for a while. If it wasn’t for madam, that garden probably never would have made it to harvest.
Well we glad it did and glad you guys are here to support our grows as we anxiously await some seed drops from you two
You are too kind, thank you. That means a lot.
Glad I could be of service!
Oooooooooh we have a problem !!! Maybe this was the problem all along. @Low @Lightbrightt2010 @Gl1tch @Crazy81 @SausageMahoney @Growdoc
Went in there to check her all out today get it fed and when I went to put in feed I see a billion white little bugs in there. In the coco moving all around.
Bugs aren’t really my wheelhouse, but I’ve had to deal with a few. Never in coco though. Looks kinda like fungus gnat larvae. Have you seen adult gnats flying around? Macro shots with your scope would definitely help if you can get some.
I only seen two gnats but they got stuck to the yellow sticky trap. And like 2 ants stuck to the sticky trap. Haven’t seen anything flying around or anything like that.
It’s almost like they’re crawling around. No wings or anything, they either jump or squirm.
Lady @Caligurl , would you have an idea on what kind of monsters those are?
Going to try and get a picture of them using the micro. Have to wait for it to charge up. I got a somewhat video of them I’ll see if I can get it paused on one of them.
I’m going to guess springtails, but thats just for my own learning process. Best to wait for the bug pros.
