First time growing auto flower. I heard somewhere about improving your yield on the auto flowers. Anybody know what I’m talking about and might be able to get me some info please. Thank you Ed the head.

Autoflowers have a mind of their own. You could get 10gs upwards to to 8 oz. Its just a roll of the dice. If youre looking for heavy yields, grow photos.

Welcome to the forum. There are no shortcuts. The most reliable way to get good yields is to master the basics (good soil, proper watering, proper lighting, management of pH and PPM, and so on,…)

Pick an auto known for better yeilds. Some autos are better than others.

I look at autos as just another tool in the toolbox, a tool for each job.

Exactly what Midwest guy said.

They are very inconsistent but a blast to grow!

Hydroponics or soilless with high frequency fertigation. These will increase your growth rates while plant is in veg and give you larger plant in short period of veg time most autos have. Like everything else, it needs to be done properly to have the most success.

Or just buy photos and veg them out longer.

On top of getting the basics down I’d suggest incorporating low stress training (LST). I’ve had really good yields growing in coco and doing LST.

Just to add to what everyone else has said, a good foundation of knowledge will go along ways.

A good, stable environment is the most important, proper temps, humidity, VPD will allow the plant to drink and eat at its best while minimizing pests and mold.

Good quality lighting!! Lighting is extremely important! Once you have the knowledge and the environment you can then blast them with light!! But as you increase lighting all other parameters must increase as well and when something goes wrong the faster and more detrimental it becomes.
I hope this helps!

Dang, I keep forgetting the soil. I’ve done dirt a few times but it needed more attention than I could give them.
White Widow Auto, Hydro DWC in a 15 gal tub (about 9 gal of liquid and roots), 9-1/2 weeks, sprouted 3/3. About fourth week of flowering. I’m hoping for 12 - 16 oz.
Pay attention to the science and Enjoy. I love the autos. Don’t have to worry so much about light. But in their short cycles, if you stress them or crop at the wrong time there can be significant effect on height and yield.
Enjoy the journey and learn from these fine folks here.

I second this. Firstly make sure all your parameters are in check like everyone has mentioned. And study up on LST (low stress training). Done properly one can increase a yield by 10x or better.
