Smoking wiseā¦ @Myfriendis410 I been researching solvents a lil and polar non polar is a odd topic for preference ā¦ depending on route of ingestion theres a couple ways to skin a catā¦ earlier I saw you said butane dissolves waxs and oils and lipidsā¦ which are all non polarā¦ but cannabinoids and terpenes are all essentially oilsā¦
But ETHANOL is polar and dissolved polar compounds such as chlorophyll a , b and waterā¦
Now is this the reason you quick wash the qwet because it will dissolve cannabinoids AND chlorophyll and waterā¦ so do it fast to reduce the polar unwanted ā¦
But butane takes wax along with cannabinoids and terpenes and you cant do quick butane ā¦butane is what it is cant speed up ā¦ but you can prolong it ā¦ do you think the waxes can be separated from the solution before evaporation to improve BHO or is it stuck
And bare with me the ethanol dosent dissolve waxes but will get water and chlorophyllā¦ I know Iām repeating my self but I just had an AH HA moment lol
Yeah, my bad. I meant 5 grams worth. I fill 5 one gram cartridges with enough to sample in a 6th. Always smooth. No grass or harshness. Quality is better than the commercial stuff Iāve had at dispensaries.

@dbrn32 cool so Iām understanding the hurdles atleast ā¦ you can get to the exact same finish line pretty much any solvent itās just the extra steps you gotta go to.to get there is the differenceā¦ am I right? Some are just easier and less expensive and time consumingā¦right? Basicly when ppl are recommending solvents or solventlessā¦ there saying this will get you as close to 100% dabs quality without a labratoryā¦ right?
From what I understandā¦ easiest way with least over head and non renewable rescourcesā¦ is rosin press imoā¦ buy the press and press bags wax paper and your pretty set for a whileā¦ just need Terps if you desireā¦ has anyone tried any rosin pressed without adding Terps and just davving it ā¦ is there alot less flavor ? Iām confusedā¦ are the terps solely for cutting viscosity in rosin so it can be takin up in eick delivery systemsā¦ instead if using PG or VG which is kinda like the smell and taste of putting vegetable oil in a pan and heating for pancakesā¦ not something Iād want to smoke but i sure have

Doubt it. Vg and Pg are have been and still are used in just about every standard vape solution. Iāve never had one yet that tasted like heated vegetable oil.
There is ups and downs with each extraction method. Easy could mean cheap, least amount of work, or what requires the least amount of knowledge. Cleanliness of product shouldnāt be limited to what is used for extraction, could also be about what is leftover in finished product for plant material. It all means something to someone.

Maybe Iām over heating it sometimes? Itās a rare once in a while I get that smell/taste usually when the carts are damn near empty I noticed I though maybe cuz the carts would sperate and the cut will rise Nd would he higher concentration of the cut to the top at the end making for bad smell ttasteā¦ now Iām almost sure these are counterfeit cartsā¦ not from dispensary to say the leastā¦ wonder what it isā¦ cuz Iāve had truleuive carts do same thing when there older and super low almost empty probably something to do with the amount of fresh material getting to the coil ā¦it is a coil right?

Old (+2 years old) VG (and PG for that matter) can have an off-putting smell and taste. Nothing wrong with it, just a funky smell. And counterfeit carts can be scaryā¦those āDANKā carts that were killing and hurting people were cut with Vit E oilā¦no good for inhalation. No telling the quality of whatever theyāre putting in there. So many things it could beā¦

Low could mean coil was dry too, which could be wick burning depending on type used.

I chalked up to getting dry or hot. ā¦ It dont do it when full with any really just once in a while
Okay well I made the G13, well the bottom 3/4 of the plant into bubble hash today. Did two runs and definitely didnāt get as much as all my trim and compost I ran (although I ran double the amount of product probably maybe 3 times as much in that run) but the smell was crazy strong. The wster had this glassy haze to it from all the tricombs. It smelt like someone had a bag of fresh pine needles in front of my nose the whole time. Wowzers.
So fresh frozen bubble hash definitely has some increased qualitys to it and I canāt wait to run a bunch more through over the next multiple harvests. Although I will be buying a bubble hash machine for 150$ as the cost to work and mess is just worth it.
In the freezer for 2 days before I microplane it, into a pizza box on parchment paper to cure for 2-7 days.
THEN I can press it into rosin, it feels like a more complicated long process now but I have a feeling Iām going to like the version of harvesting more so then trimming, drying, burping and trying to not over dry yet still get nice manacured bud (of course Iāll still do this with the main colas so I always have flower kicking around)

Thatās all you got total from how much ā¦bud you say?if you used anything more then 5 grams of budā¦ I would he mad ā¦ thatās dissapointingā¦you can do way better with ethanol or bho bro ā¦ dont be hesitant to do it for residual chemical left overs. Bho literally self purges you take your Bho smear it on a pane of glass and put in atop s lamp shade for 24 hours ā¦ I made a bad ass custom extraction tube for less then 20 bucks ā¦ uses all inert corrosive resistant vynil and brassā¦ fits a bho can tip perfect with 1/8 barbed hose fitting and bushd up to 5/8 in [I know you metric but we can convert measurments]ā¦ and Iāve done so many different solvent , bho is by far the easiest hassle free hash with best quality and flavor correlationā¦ I highly recommend it and seems like you like to not waste ā¦you can pack the lil tube (or big tube if you want) Iād make a big one and a small oneā¦ pack a quarter ounce in small one pack an ounce in big one ā¦ put coffee filter round bottom ,hold in place with nice rubber band and cut down to the rubber band ā¦because the coffee filter absorbs bho with thc ,inturn evaporates and leaves same bho the goes in plate in the coffee filter so the smaller you make filterā¦ the less loss you have because less is being sucked up with filterā¦ itās a very efficient lil device Iāll dig up pictures if it and the hash I made from it in my old journal

I have a rosin setup, I donāt have a bho setup and Iām not about to go spend a bunch of money.
Iām actually making good dabs right now with flower but everyone says to make live rosin so thatās what Iām gonna try.
The terps in it are amazing so Iām gonna give it a solid try for the next little bit and get a bubble hash machine to ensure I get maximum yeild.
But yes it does seem like your turn alot of bud into a little bit of bubble hash.

Thatās what Iām trying to say I think you can greatly increase you yield with a 20$ home made contraption ā¦ I get it that you wanna get better with you gotā¦ I would he interested to see what happened if you took. The stuff you processed as bubble hashā¦ dehydrate it and run it through solvent and see what you get back ā¦ I like the idea of bubble hash being solventlessā¦ but bho self purges very simply and I got some realy quality dabs with my little devise I made ā¦ I just replicated an extraction tube instead of paying money for a bho blow tube I made s super durable NOT breakable ( there usually glass) i thinks stupid to make it outta glass there plenty of not fragile easily substitueable materialsā¦ i was stuck on my first hash method with the drive to perfect it and j realizedā¦ there isnt such thing as perfect isoā¦ iso is crude crude hash and never really gets better quality itās good to long wash off full spectrum for salveā¦ and thatās all itās good for ā¦ Iām trying to smoke it like a foolā¦ and realized this stuff sint for smoking lolā¦ live (almost die) and learn ā¦ I want s press my selfā¦ but I dont want to have to use tons if weed and sacrifice yield just to call it solventlessā¦
Iām telling you with nothing more then the 20 $ contraption a can or 2 of butane and a pyrex dish (flat bottom for easy material retrievalā¦ and a 12" square pane of glass so ā¦ dosent have to he pyrex cuz your evaporating at room temp and it evaporated MUCH faster then ethanol ir iso Iām pretty sure butane is in the 99.% purity rangeā¦ have you ever got commercially or home mate bho before or shatter it wax is usually bhoā¦ very flavorfulā¦ if your not a heavy smoker I bet you couldnāt tell the differnce in bho to co2 ir bubble

Infact I like bho better then bubble because itās less steps and I feel higher yeildā¦ pressing has to tied for first or a close second to yield wiseā¦ let me know some details of your processes to the bubble hashā¦ Iām interested in micron size ā¦ starting product amount finished product weightā¦ trim or bud ā¦ I love processing weed ecspecially after I grew it and have a good amount to play withā¦ when I buy and oz for 200 bucks ā¦ indont wanna do nothing but sniff it and smoke it lolā¦ but when theres couple poundsā¦ sure why not

I save the best of the best of the trim over a few plants and then make bubble hash every 6 monthsā¦nice return on the trim for a couple hours of timeā¦strong shit if the weed came out right!!
