I’m almost ready to harvest, 13 wks and 4 days into flowering my question is should i go ahead and water before harvest or let the soil dry a little bit more than usual before i chop em. i assume that if i water there will be more moisture in the tops to slow the drying process down for the 10 day dry. @Newt @Covertgrower @ChittyChittyBangin @Borderryan22
I stay on water cycle until I chop. But then I don’t usually plan my chop more than a day or two ahead.
Same ^^
I don’t think it would make a whole lot of difference. But 13½wks sure is a long time! Got a pic???
Lights are off right now
A picture with flash after lights off at this late in the grow won’t hurt her one bit… if you have multiple plants with more time, I’d recommend against it but if it’s just her, no worries.
Also I water up til harvest as well. More moisture means a slower dry. But a slower dry means you keep more terps as well.
This… I maintain good watering practices until chop.
It definitely makes a difference if you do or do not stay on water cycle. I let my cheese Aldo go 6 days past her normal water cycle before I chopped. Kept my humidity and temperature as normal in the drying room and she was done drying in 4 days. Still some great smoke but I feel like I lost a lot of my stinky terps. My reason for going 6 days pass normal I figured it would stress her out to create more trichromes that was a failure.
I wouldn’t do anything to compromise the plant’s ability to produce and maintain trichomes immediately before harvest.
