yup so a mainline you would tie those two shoots down almost parallel with the soil grow a node then top above that node. Rinse repeat until your satisfied. I’ve done 8, 16, and 32 tops and I feel like 8 or 16 is the sweet spot. 8 for smaller plants and 16 if you have a grower on your hands. 32 might be good outdoor, but thus far in my attempts takes longer with little benefit over 16.
In a manifold you would do the same, but instead of topping your two laterals turned mains you just grow those two till you have the desired number of tops from laterals or desired size. you can also mix the techniques which is my favorite and current record holder for yield.

This one is projected to be around 6 ft tall reading from the genetics and all. I don’t think I’ll go with the 32 only because that would be a lot for 100w. I think I’ll just get away with the 16 mains.
When I top the shoots I was thinking about letting it go two three nodes then topping again but I like your idea with the topping at every node

you can go a few nodes. it takes a little while but also gives her a chance to recover between toppings. That is probably my favorite part of growing…trying different training techniques is waaaay fun. If you go every node then you will need to twist the stem a little since the nodes alternate. After the first top the next node will put out one lateral growing up and one down towards the soil unless you twist them. if you have time I like giving it another node so they grow parallel to the soil instead of perpendicular. Then when you top you also cut the one growing down towards the soil(they are usually pretty wimpy). This also will give a little extra room between colas so the light can penetrate a little better. In the end you can always play with it a little and see what you get.

Yea that’s what I did one the last couple, I topped first go around waited until they all got to second node and then topped them just for that reason, yes I was scared to man handle them but now I twist, pull bend and go oh well we have more . I know exactly what you mean with the one growing down had that problem last grow I was like there is no way you’re catching up to the rest of the pack and snipped them away. Perfect, I’ll be getting in there soon currently toking her friend 
. I don’t like being in there smoking and her getting a whiff at her friend being burned to death

3 days into week 4, pup decided to see the progress lol. Training is going well, still haven’t gone through drip yet but I’ll pull the trigger soon I’m sure lol. Going away next week so I’m not gonna have a choice. But little steps at a time.

Been a few days, got in there yesterday for a little bit more training being pushed down. Getting in there today for more LST. Yesterday was looking like I would be able to get the second topping in today so we shall see.

As promised growmies. We got in there I probably could have waited a little bit longer for the topping but eh it’ll be okay lol. One more topping after this to bring her to a grand total of 16 colas.
Made the decision to keep it at 16 colas rather then 32 until we get a bigger and better light that is .

Little vacation over the weekend was pretty great, got to the mountains around 9pm on Friday. Took shrooms tripped balls until about 4 in the morning. Woke up at 8am Saturday went paintballing 11am - 4pm. Went and got food from the lake house. Sunday came home and got some more training done. How was everyone else’s weekend ??
Took a gander at her over the camera today thinking about getting in there and opening her up a little bit to get light on the new mains. They haven’t grew much 
all the leaves could be playing a big part. Whatcha guys think ??

Week 6, day 57. Got some more training going on, pressure constantly being applied . Canopy looks great and nice and even. She’s now looking like a circle almost . Took some leaves off to open her up a little bit and get her a little cleaned up.

Can’t go to much farther using the garden spikes. Gonna have to switch over to utilizing the poles and garden wire in about a couple days. But she’s moving along great now. You would never have thought she was just about dead a few weeks ago.
