I like to use Teflon tape when I break a branch.
Hmmmm…I hadn’t tried that yet. That’s another miracle product I usually have around.
I believe I have both a bandage and Teflon tape laying around. Thanks.
@Gl1tch next feeding today or tomorrow. Will do my checks. I will get myself in a routine on checking numbers and I’ll definitely post my questions and results.
I think once a week in soil will keep my mind at rest.
Exactly what I am hoping to learn.
@DarhkGrow thanks for the tip. I do have that around and know exactly where it’s at.
fun unrelated fact, a card board ring wrapped in Teflon tape makes a great ghetto gasket. That has saved me a few times working in the middle of nowhere when the equipment goes down. When I mix up my nutes I set aside about 1/4 of the recommended water. Mix my nutes with the other 3/4 water, check EC, Add a little water check again until you have reached target EC. Then PH balance after EC/PPM is on point. for me this method helped eliminate a lot of mistakes I was making and streamline the process.
Dont laugh… its a device my bride purchased and uses to dry undergarments. I stole and repurposed them, lol! You can spare yourself a backhand to the shoulder and get a 2pk for 20 bucks on scamazon.
Happy harvesting, Growmie!

The more I read the more I’m glad I’m doing organic. No ph. Just top dress every 2 weeks or so water once to twice a week! My grow is in auto pilot lol.
That would be why I’m moving back that way. I would much rather let nature do the heavy lifting. Although other methods do have their merits.
Makes me sad
Top dress sounds nice, but going to learn this first. Kind of a bucket list thing.
Tomorrow going to be feed day. Been mixing four gallons at a time. Use 3 1/2 on two day and almost all 4 on 3 day gap.
I’ll mix 3 gallons of nutes and leave one alone.
Add my nutes, do my checks, pH it out to 6.5.
Anything special on the out? Can I just check my drain pan after it sits a bit?
Seems like I read in actuality I wasn’t supposed to read first half of run off, maybe the middle. I probably got it backwards.
On a side note, my bud and I once made a thermostat gasket with a Busch beer box on side of road. Held for the last 25 miles to house. Good times.
My first 2 grows, I did top dress with just water and recharge. My first grow came out great, felt lucky, second was still pretty good. This grow went to mixing nutes for each feed, it just feels like a bit more of control for me. I see the benefits of differing ways to grow, but I kind of like feeding as I go. Probably going to Autopots with reservoir next time with Jacks a and b.
Damn, what rotten luck. I’d be yelling at the postmaster. Saying all sorts of mean and hurtful things
On the out I just pulled a few ML out of each tray a few minutes after watering. There may be a more accurate way, that’s just what I have always done it. I think for soil your watching for the PH to stay relatively close to the input and PPM to drop into the 800-1000 range then it is time to feed. If someone knows better please correct me. I don’t really like doing soil this way so that is just what I have picked up here and there.
lol, Coors boxes for me, the one on my rototiller is still holding after 2 years.
If you like the more hands on approach, might I recommend you look into coco/perlite and high frequency fertigation. Coco is a neutral medium that holds more air and has better drainage than soil. It can handle near constant watering and brings nothing to the party but a place for roots to grow. You will be able to feed constantly and control every aspect of that input. Like hydro but in a pot. Once you get it dialed in you can get insanely fast growth.
Wish it would have been packed in a better container. I’ll see what customer support says.
Thanks. I’ll grab a bit out. Seems like I read pH same in out. School is in session for me tomorrow.
Thanks, that is what I am probably going to do. Almost 64 and the Coco paired with Auto pot system seems to be a bit more hands free and a bit easier on me😉. I looked at hydro and rdwc but got overwhelmed quickly. A bit of freedom to leave for a few days too.
Coco for cannabis is a great resource that got me started in coco. I haven’t used the autopots, but I have seen people extol the virtues of SIP which seems pretty similar. I don’t know if you would get quite the same results as with HFF and automatic irrigation on a timer. It does seem like an easier option that might not require constant monitoring and would likely yield great results.
ILGM is replacing smashed seeds for me. Thanks ILGM…
I would blame the Post Office in the first place. Or maybe its just my Post Office thinks words like do not fold and fragile are a challenge. It got so bad I had to buy a po box in the next town over so i could receive my mail in one piece.
Man, hope it wasn’t federal sabotage.
So did my feed. Haven’t really researched the numbers to much yet but am I over feeding a bit?
maybe just a tiny bit. Defiantly get confirmation on specific numbers. If so just skip a feeding or two until the numbers come back to where you want them. I’m not sure which PPM scale most people are using in the posts I have seen. I think they are using the NaCl/500 scale. Looks like your using the KCl/750 scale.I use EC because conductivity makes sense in my brain and there are no scales to get mixed up. Most people use PPM though. I think it’s easier to pick one and learn to convert the others.
