2020 Grow Underway

Girls are chuggin along nicely. GSC is finally catching up a bit. Blue Dream got her first top a few days ago and is just doing her thing.

Green Crack was transplanted a couple days ago and looking beautiful.

And, after two tries, we finally have a Super Lemon Haze.

And lastly, I’ve decided to add another strain to the mix.

It’s been a week now so I guess it’s time for an update.
Blue dream got her first training to start her manifold, and I topped her for the 2nd time.
Pineapple Chunk and Girls Scout Cookies also got topped, for the first time and they are all really starting to fill out their pots!
Watered them all last night for the first time in 15 days lol and they all got another fish & Kelp foliar last night.

Green Crack, Super Lemon Haze, & Five Alive coming along nicely. The smaller ones will most likely be transplanted today.

Looking good :+1: :v:

Stay on top of Blue Dream. She can get out of hand on a drop of a dime. They can grow taller than 78” and it will dominate a grow tent real fast. :+1:

Looking good. Curious what size pots you are going to end up in? I’m gonna be starting my seeds for the greenhouse as soon as they come in the mail from the local seed place. I was gonna go with 10-15 gal smart pots. Should I go bigger?

Are you gonna be growing photos or autos? If you go to the first post at the top of the page, I believe it says that he is using 15gal, when he moves them outside. :v:

I’ve been going back and forth between 15 and 20 gallons. I’ve got about 3 weeks, when they go outside, to decide lol
And welcome to the forum!

And that would depend on how much you want to harvest. Bigger pots=bigger roots=bigger fruits.
But if you’re growing autos, 10 gallons would be more than enough.

Agreed :+1: :v:

So, I’ve been thinking that for next years plants, I’m going to invest in a QB and repurpose these household LED’s. I know @dbrn32 is the expert here. I’m only looking to get a light that would be sufficient for roughly the first 2-2 1/2 months of veg (as they will be outdoors after that) and one that has a footprint of about 2x4’-3x4’. Any recommendations?
I’m not looking for the best light either. Just something that is equal to or slightly better than the ~280w/~20,000 lumen LED’s I have on them now.

If you’re going to be looking for 3x4 qb coverage I would probably just get a 260 xl kit. Same light would flower a 2x4.

Thank you so much! I wanted to have plenty of time to do my research lol

That one is just a little out of my price range.
What do you think about this one?

Anything more than 3x3 pushing it for veg with that. You could probably get a big t5 fixture pretty cheap. Would cost a little more to run but initial cost less.

The growspace I have now is actually only 3’x1 1/2’. I was just thinking 3x4 to be on the safe side. Would this 135w v2 be better for that size space or a t5? And my bad, I should’ve mentioned my budget from the beginning lol

Tough call. The square footage is about right for a 135 kit, but edges would be pretty weak. The boards are only about 11.5 x 6". That is ideal space for diy build with 560mm strips or a couple of hlg-100’s.

Np worries on the budget, we all have one.

So, I’ve been looking around and I found this.

100 watts from the wall but 1000w equivalency. I’ve heard good things about Spider Farm but almost sounds too good to be true lol
If I got 2 HLG 65 v2’s, I’d be pulling more from the wall, but only 300w HID equivalency?
Would I be better off with one of these options or a decent t5?

That’s a lie

This number has data to support it.

Okay, I thought those numbers didn’t sound right.
Right now, I’m just trying to decide between a good t5 or a couple of those HLG 65’s.
