1st timer growing NL and AK-47 autos

As much fun as I had messing with the net, they have now stopping growing up (I think). I didn’t touch them this morning.
Now to just wait and get my door and fan hung, and start next batch of autos. I already have the auto seeds and I’ll plant new seeds up top with some kind of cheap led. This time will be LST. I’ll start 1 month before harvest (and increase by 2 seeds if they all germ), by then it’s plenty warm enough to get photo periods started in greenhouse.

@Ketel, good luck w/ your grow dude…I was laughing about your post that your spouse doesn’t know, how in the wide world of sports have you done that? My wife is upset I just bought my led light, haven’t really even set up yet, I need stealth tips from you… You must have giant home lol

@Yoshi, I see you have lots of input on grows so I wanted your advice too!

@Zombo, the gig is up. I was keeping the door, fan, (and new led, shhh), and soil a secret but it’s out now lol. The main goal here is stop paying too much for crappy meds (so I was ‘approved’). Well that’s my hope.

@ketel…lol, my wife doesn’t partake, trying to convince her that I will make her some brownies, but I’m still in negotiations here… I was wondering if u had some stealth tips, maybe we can start new topic “best way to keep wife from seeing your tent”

@Zombo I just made brownies, with just ok results. I’ll make more when I have free trim.
So far I’m only growing inside but I have been growing LOTS of outside plants and flowers for years! There are tons of good ‘hiding’ type plants imo. I grow a lot of cannas and elephant ears (from bulb, use year after year). My cannas are from 2’ to 6’. The package has a pic and height. If you place a couple bulbs in the same pot they get very dense, you won’t see thru it. Elephant ears are also huge, can be 8’ or more wide, and each leaf can be more than 24" (I’ve grown nice size)!!! These aren’t as full as cannas but they have their use. Also, Elephant ears grow fine in some sun, cannas need a lot to bloom tho. I’ve also never had an Elephant Ear flower unless mostly direct sun.

My outdoor plan this year is to use cannas, tomatoes, tall herbs, etc. in 5 gallon fabric pots. I can hide them in direct sun and I can just move the hidden for parties or whatever. With about 4 plants on 3 sides, it’s will blend in. If I stagger them a little no one would see a thing (outdoor plants, not a tent, lol). See what you think about the cover plants, I’d say 7’ high counting the pots (cannas).

hmmm, one of the people here could have a great thread on just this… (hint, hint)

Cannas:

Elephant Ears (they are normally smaller with many more leaves, I used this because it had a human to get the size).

@Ketel I’m just a well informed rookie my friend, I’m a beginner like you, just a regular guy that likes to read a lot. I might can add a few suggestion but it’s best I let the professionals help you , just to stay neutral so I don’t tell you wrong information my friend.

@Ketel, great stealth plantings, seems like you have the green thumb!

Yeah, I think those plants would be great to cover but I guess depending on strain UR growing, meaning height. Seems like me would grow like a mother in that environment

The plants are 39 days old. I didn’t quite fill the area, 4 more could have been planted because the light veg footprint is slightly bigger than the closet. I think I have a pretty even canopy and they seem to be in bud stage (?). This is has been a huge learning experience (thanks everyone at ILGM!) and my second grow should do better from experience.
I didn’t even install the door and fan yet, life has been keeping me too busy. I want to keep rh about 50% since I’ll have new plants starting shortly in the top area.
Do I switch to bloom nutes now (TB)? I’ll use about the same 1/3 dose I use now.
Do I still use cal-mag?
If some tops are higher than others should I still try to even them out height wise?

thanks

Should I start the Tiger Bloom now @TxGrowman @Niala @Yoshi @Zombo @bob31 ? I also stopped misting them, I guess they won’t need mist now?
Is there anything else going now or is it just wait time now?

How long it been in flower on 12\12 ? If this your first week into transition from veg to flower, you have to gradually transition your nutrients from veg to flower by taking your grow nutrients out little and adding your bloom nutrients gradually. So for example let’s say you feeding 10 ml a gallon which is 1 ml, you add 1 ml of grow and 2.5 ml of bloom, than next 7.5 ml of grow.5 ml of bloom, than.5 ml of grow 7.5 ml of bloom, than 2.5 ml of grow 1 ml of bloom, than no grow 1 ml of bloom that way the plant transition into flower withoyt a sudden change in nutrients which can cause nutrients burn in the root system. By gradually adding bloom and taking away grow each feed the plant adjust without stress or burn and goes into bloom without stress, hope this make sense cause this is where many growers make the costly mistake of changes and stress they plant and hurt they final yield and by time you do this you will be in full flower. But this is where many make mistakes going from veg to bloom. Many also count this as flower calendar days from the light switch to 12\12 from 18\6 which is actually pre-flower that takes about three weeks which most experienced growers calm this the stretch, but if you follow the nutrient transition and by the time you get to just adding bloom nutrients only than that’s the first week of flower and it’s about 6 weeks for most indica feminished plants and between 6-9 weeks for most sativa plants, and you can also adjust your lights schedule as well during flower for good results. After the third week of pre-flower in transition on 12\12 going into week one of full flower which will be week four from the actual light schedule switch, you can extend your dark period longer which helps build resin trichomes. So the first five weeks 12\12 than week six 11\13 than week seven which will be third week of full flower you can go to 10\14 and finish the plant on this schedule which in some strains helps the plant finish and ripen, especially for stubborn sativa plants, but it will really help build resin on your plants due to intense light decrease THC resin trichomes and during the dark period lights out the plant reproduce those resin trichomes in efforts to catch pollen from the male to reproduce which you will see a difference in crystal formation on the sugar leaves and pistils but if you want you can read up on this to get a more understanding on how it’s done so I hope this helps and I’m sorry for the long post but I try to explain this in simple means which cause a lot of writing :memo:. Hope this makes sense but don’t think I’m suggesting are telling you to follow what I’m saying, I’m just giving my opinion but yet it’s what I do and have experience great success in this method.

Thank you much! I will follow the nutes example you posted. These are autos and I noticed most growth slowed and I think the one pic looks like flowering started (I hope). They vegged longer than I expected but I really never expected harvest from seed in 8 weeks.
I have read a lot about the darkness period (48 hours?) but these are still on 20/4 lighting.

What did you feed last? If this an auto than it can be some difference due to the rapid pace of autos but it’s the same process gradually adding bloom and taking away grow nutrients. Tell me all what you added your last feed and I might can give a better opinion on what I think are what I would do?

@Yoshi I watered 4 days ago, I used 1/3 dose of Grow Big, 1/3 dose cal-mag, and less than 1/4 Big Bloom. I have Tiger Bloom ready to go. thanks again!

Hey @Brian091180 I was hoping you’d make a comment, your grow is amazing!!! I’m trying to keep up on about 6 journals here and yours is one of them!!

I think your in great shape remember less is more and autos less is best. @yoshi has you covered he is a master …he will never admit it …

My thing right now is environment get that correct and use good starting soil then something like fox farms ocean forest and keep nutrients at 1/4 to 1/2 strength oh and number one thing PH PH PH. Thats the most important thing there are growers here that use good soil and correctly PHed water only and have super nice fat buds

My 2 issues I’m aware of should be taken care of today. I’m hanging the door and fan w/carbon filter. My temps are a little low and humidity I’d like around 50% because I’m getting the next seeds started in a couple weeks.

For most people (my bro and you guys) would do it in an hour and have time to smoke. I spent more time digging thru the shed to get to the power tools, cut the door down side and top, 4" hole for exhaust. Next I’ll add my intake holes in the bottom and hang the hinges. So far it’s been over 3 days… I have to use a DIY site just so I know how to do it! Also, I’m old but I knew I had the right tools and I found each one so far (so I won’t have to use a screwdriver to make the hinge flush, I found my chisel).

I’ll be proud to show my bro I could do it though. I did everything so far except: I was told (by my spouse) I needed my bro to hang the light and verify I’m not burning our house down.
p.s. I know @Yoshi knows his stuff, he always has great advice for others (so I tagged him on purpose to get his take on the plants). I hope that’s not a bad thing to do?

No you can ask me anything, if it’s a simple question I’ll give my opinion , the only thing is I don’t word are write :pencil2: my grammar in far more details to the expectancy of explaining cause I think most people who ask have read on information as I have and had trouble understanding from a more specific of Agriculture knowledge. But I’ve found that most don’t read :open_book: books are blogs that explains are give vital information on growing. But reading is my passion plus it’s a huge part in my profession so it’s what I do normally everyday not saying anyone don’t read many just don’t, but you are fine asking me if you think I can help, I’m just a well inform beginner rookie grower as many others on here.
