1st ILGM grow - Superskunk(fem)

Just drop a couple of cfl on both sides of the plant?

Never grown it, and all I remember is some sticky-bud one summer covered with thick bushy hairs, that smelled like a skunk got beaten to death with a pine tree LOL, Summer before senior year I think. I got hold of a pound of it (about $300 back then  ) and was very popular for a while.

There’s plenty of LEDs for around that price, so I’d take someone’s advice on the best one for that price. As far as the CFLs, I’ll dig up a pic of what I did when I had zero cash, but the LED wasn’t enough.

Here was the rig I had - total of 8 CFL’s

Random post of the day: I have 2 tribes of squirrels in my front yard, they are the Magnolia tribe and the Oak tribe. Right now my front porch and walk are a cross between the bloods vs crips, and West Side Story

Wow! Quite the setup! You did this just for flowering?

Yup - I had zero cash waiting for my divorce to finalize. I had replaced all the lights in my apartment with LED’s to save cash (got a deal on some) so I had a dozen CFL’s laying around. I raped 2 drop-lights and cannibalized 2 pendant lights, and I got the bulb-splitters for about .99 each. It didn’t kill them.

If I we’re to purchase a 2nd viparspectra, you think that would be sufficient to produce similar results? How much were you able get off that plant in dry weight?

Or you think I should maybe look into getting a hid type in conjunction with the viparspectra?

I looked at your light, and it is basically the same as what I had. But I bought that 2 years ago. The exact same light now is cheaper, and they have the ā€œbetterā€ model for what I paid for the original. Since you plan on buying one, I would get advice on the best one for that price and plan on just using the new one - with the other one as a spare or to use both.

I am thinking about setting up a rotation, and using my old light for early veg-ing towards the end of this grow.

Also, that light should do good for the first few weeks or more if needed, if that helps you save more money to get the light you want before she get’s too far into flower.

I emptied out this cedar wardrobe, and I’m thinking that with a little prep, it could double as a sprout/veg room, then when I harvest and those plants go to the closet, this would be perfect for drying.

I agree for vegging. That ceader is some very fragrant wood though. I’d worry about the buds absorbing that odor and taste if you use it for drying. Only one way to find out though.

I am thinking that it will naturally absorb some moisture and cedar is imminently bug resistant. I think that over a week or two of hang-drying it won’t make that much difference.

Forgot to answer - right at 2 oz dry. it was a bag-seed and I had issues, so that was great.

Mornin’!

Looks like I made a stoner move that might work out fine.

When the taproot was showing, I immediately got her in a pot and soaked it. While I had a brand new unopened bag of FFOF sitting right there, I potted it in the soil mix. Like it or not, she’s getting nutrients already to some extent. But I see the first leaves popping, so we’ll see how it goes.

Dropped the overnight soak in the peat pellet point down (fwiw) - With my luck so far, I don’t trust myself not to break off a taproot… Next Sunday I hope to have 2 girls growing.

Odd coincidence? I went out on the porch for my wake-n-bake and coffee, and there was a smell of skunk in the air LOL! I glanced at the road, but nothing. Then I think I found a burrow under a fallen tree about 100yds from the house. Debating on a course of action. But thinking a trail-cam might be a fun investment.

The smell went away, so I know it wasn’t dead on the road. I think this is a temporary burrow, or an old one, because there’s an exit about 5 feet to the right behind the tree roots. But there is a path worn in the leaves. Oh, that hole is about a foot across. It’s a HUGE fallen oak.

That might be ā€œbug-out location number oneā€ to get away from a :cat:. There’s 2 ā€œneighborsā€ outdoor cats I have seen roaming the yard. I was worried about the squirrels, but the other day a family of fox squirrels were chattering and dancing around this big fluffball cat. I thought they were going to pull out switchblades LOL :dagger:

Back to weed. She was stretching so I cut down the dome so I could get the lights closer. I noticed that my two biggest wattage CFL’s had a different ā€œhueā€ or whatever, so I’m doing a little experiment to see if she favors one over the other. Pic doesn’t show it as well, but the left one is more yellow than white.

It shows, and it looks like shes favoring the brighter one.
