1st grow - Og kush auto

No problem, glad I could help. Maybe calm down on the amount of water. When watering make up your water and then water around the outside of the planter. And just a little bit in the middle. That way the roots will reach towards the outside of the planter to find water. I normally water at that point every 3 to 4 days. Once you get full of roots I normally water every two days or three. Don’t water unless you’re plantar feels light. You definitely want it to dry out for at least one day. These plants love wet and then dry. That’s one of the biggest mistakes new guys make is overwatering.

@Mucluc hopefully the damage is clear too see. Damn I feel like such an ass. Looks like a couple leaves on the bigger plant and one on the smaller one.

They’ll be just fine Just let him dry out good before you water them again.

They should be just fine, growmie. I don’t even bother to chop my leaves off if they’re only damaged and not diseased. I sucked a whole branch up into my vacuum cleaner hose once in early flower, mangled it pretty good.   She came through no worse for wear, couldn’t much tell come harvest.

@d-Jawz thank you for the reassurance and for sharing your own goof ups. I really appreciate it. Actually made me smile a bit. Yeah jeez I ended up cutting of the most damaged leaf last night but I left the rest. I cut it as far back as I could without touching the other branch growing out of it by the stalk.

I’m excited to get home and check on the plants. I had to move them from where they were to a closet because we are moving apartments soon. I should have done it on a day off so I would be there to monitor the environment. I’m worried the temp and humidity are off from where I want them. I did turn the grow lights down and raised them because the temp seemed high this morning. Gosh I hope they weren’t just baking all day

3 words: Airflow, airflow and airflow…good to provide plenty of airflow. :crossed_fingers:

@d-Jawz yeah jeez I got home from work a little bit ago. Temp reads 81 and humidity is around 50 but it has a peak of 78. Jeez looeze. I have a 6 inch fan in there the leaves are dancing a little. See I had to move my plants into this closet temporarily and I haven’t been able to dial the environment in, with what I have. I turned my light down and raised it thinking that would help cool it off but na not really.

Those numbers are ok. 81 is not too hot. I’ve seen hotter and they do fine, some strains tolerate heat better than others. If I do need to cool it down some, I like to find another way than to raise my light. I prefer keeping the photons at the right level for the plant’s stage of growth. Do you have a light meter at all, using the light manufacturer’s distance chart, or just winging it? :victory_hand:

@d-Jawz my only light meter is the phone app. I’m using the light chart as a guide but trying to give them as much as possible. I’m about 30 inches away right now light is on 35% . I had it on 50% and only 20 inches away. Both plants have the edges of the leaves curling up a bit which I read could be from heat stress. Also the Ripleys OG, it’s two biggest fan leaves keep twisting to the point the fan leaves are completely 90 degrees from how the should be. I also thought maybe that was from heat or light stress. My phone app reads about 13k lux at canopy too right now which I think is low. I’m just not sure what to do.

That’s right where I have mine right now. Perfect for some plants.

The plants are gonna be in this closet for a couple of weeks, in that time I think the lights ideally would be turned up. But it’s gonna get hot in there, it’s 81 with the light on the low setting it’s on. Right outside the door it’s 72 degrees I have the fan by the door. I thought it’d pull cool air in but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I know I’m fine for the moment though.

I lowered the light but kept the intensity the same I’m at 18k lux at canopy now. I’ll see what that does to em

Looks like ya need a tent.

I don’t know lux language  I have to find a conversion chart somewhere lol.
Looked back on my grow notes from back in the last couple weeks of August and I was hitting 96 and 98 degrees in my 5x5 tent growing some ILGM Purple Kush and some Amnesia Haze and they all come out shining in the end. :+1:

@d-Jawz yeah I used a lux to ppfd calculator online. I think I used it right. It says 462 I believe the unit is micro moles, idk. I’m just going off of stuff I googled, the light chart for my light, and how the plants are responding. Sounds like temps can get way hotter than I have them though based on your experience. Thanks again for the reassurance. It’s exciting times because the og kush is 25 today. They grow up so fast

@Mucluc I absolutely wanna get one. I probably will here soon. Having a carbon filter will be good too. Maybe I can get one on a good sale soon. A 2x4 or 3*3 would do me nice I think. Gone be after the move though. We move apartments on the 22

Black Friday is the best time in my opinion to buy that stuff. Always great deals then. Just keep your eyes open for a sale.

@Mucluc yeah that was my thinking. I gotta double check the dimensions of my light and make sure I get one that fits. My light is a spider farmer se3000. I also gotta check out the new place and make sure I get something size appropriate. Exciting times for sure. I guess I’m gonna look at vivosun, mars hydro, spider farmer and AC infinity. Try to get the best price.
