Dropped 6 seeds… 1 sprouted, dropped 6 more, 2 sprouted. So in total 12 seeds to get three plants. Yes, they are older seeds, stored in the original packaging in another bag in an amber jar in the fridge.
Germination method was to let tap water sit for a few days, small jar in a safe with a dehumidifier rod. Most cracked open, only 3 grew tails. I put all of them in coco and continued watering them, the three with tails grew, nothing from the rest.
RO water, Jacks, TPS silica Gold, Cal-Mag (Both Silica and Cal-mag are in very small amounts which will increase in flowering.)
Coco 70/30 perlite
PPMs running 1500+
PH 5.8
PPFD 900 (currently)
55/60% RH
Hi temp 84 lows 64
I did move the driver for the light outside of the tent, which helped drop high temps 7 to 10 degrees.
My water temps are running a bit warm at 71 / 72. (So far my chiller search is proving frustrating.)
My circulation pump for the chiller decided to have less head pressure this run and not able to lift water to the chiller. I’ve been up to 74* a few times and so far so good
My last grow, the Sativa did great but the two Indica strains didn’t do as well and bordered on cal deficiencies the whole grow. So I started this grow with only 50ml for 50 gallons of nutrient. A little less than half of the lowest recommendation.
I’m not familiar with the TDS, I read EC, which is running just over 1.5 or 1537. I’m running plenty of run off, feeding at lights on then every 6 hours. Lights on for 20 hours. Giving them a couple hours of light after the last feeding before lights off.
Had a crazy night last night, this is a better explanation.
From the manual:
the unit will automatically turn from ppm to ppt if the reading is greater than 999 ppm, meaning you will only see 1.XX ppt instead of 1XXX ppm
I started out with using EC and broke my meter. Dude gave me another and it was PPM. I couldn’t make myself like using those numbers so I be entering the PPM into a website that converts for me. Sometimes we just like what we like. I still don’t get all the however many numbers are on each side of the decimal but I know somehow what the numbers mean.
Yes, unless I’m mistaken, runoff should be about 20% of the fertigation. Currently I see water coming out of the bags at 1 minute.
60 seconds plus 20% or 72 seconds. I start a little high at 80 seconds, and as the plant grows and drinks more I will have to increase time. I also have to monitor the weight of the bags just prior to feeding. when they become to light I will need to add another fertigation event.
4x each 24hr period. I started at 5x but they were still way wet before each time. So I went to 4x. I have always gotten way too much ru. I start with a quart to each in 3 and 5 gallon bags. On my Clones this time I’ve pulled back to less than the quart because they are flowing before I get it all into them. The 2 bigger ones won’t start flowing until about halfway through the 2nd quart, but then it seems most of it all comes out the bottom. Idk? I’m probably exaggerating as I’ve never actually measured it. All good. Almost done now. About a week or less left on them. I gotta take some more photos to share tonight.
