I have a ph meter and a tds meter what is the ppm meter this is what I have

Oh, good, that’s exactly what you need. TDS stands for total dissolved solids, and it’s the same as PPM. In fact, you should probably be able to switch readings on that meter if you press mode.

3 modes

I don’t know what the 2nd mode is tho and this is the 1 I want to use when I water to get run off right ph meter is only to water with

Yes, this is what you use for your runoff and will give you the PPM reading. There is a way to convert that to TDS, but I can’t remember how and it’s not really necessary. You’ll also want to check your Ph runoff too just to keep track of your Ph.

as always your a big help thanks

The conversion you are thinking of is TDS to EC. TDS is read in parts per million, PPM.

@Newb1 I’m not sure, but I think that second mode is EC, electro conductivity. That will allow you to check in either TDS or EC without needing to convert the numbers.

They look good, so raustin is right, no need to flush…

@Newb1 hey there things are moving along its been a little while since I have been here could you just remind me how big are your pots that you ladys are in and I think I did recommend getting your meters both off them they are essential to every grow because you can rule out a Ph problem if it does ever happen so you would have a head start on that and it your Ph and PPMs are good then it would be time to look at deficiencies next but again you have already ruled out 2 very important factors and you will be so much better off going forward hope this helps you out you only need a small amount of runoff to get your readings, so if you can get back to me with the pot’s size and I could help you to work out a better way to get some runoff to test :v:.

The pots are gallons

OK so if you let them dry out almost completely @Newb1 before you next water and then water until you have about 20% runoff you can put it sitting on top off anything with a bucket or anything like that to catch that runoff and you can get your readings, and just another opinion is I would do this at a slow rate so that you are not just reading exactly what you are putting in hope this helps :v:.

So I let my plants soil dry out for a few days now pretty dry i plan on watering till I get some run off do I just water with plain ph water or do I add nutes to the water (have not yet feed them)

How old are they? It might be a good idea to plain Ph water them first if they’re that dry. Nutes can burn a very dry plant.

They are just under a month now. They are dry to bout 2-2.5 inches of the top of the pots

I like to start feedings at half strength and see how they do. So I recommend their first feeding at half strength to runoff, and take a PPM reading to see how much they eat. If all goes well, you can up their nutes for the next feeding. Don’t forget to Ph the water after you add the nutes.

So I watered till I got run off ph 6.4 in /ppm in was 952/ out was 1823 ph out was 7.4 I have know ideal on what this mean tho any help and where do I go from here :thinking::thinking:

It means you have to lower your PH in to lower your PH OUT. You have a higher PPM out because some nutrients are starting to be unable to be absorbed due to the improper PH level. @Newb1
